The online multiplayer option for Injustice 2 may not be as popular as it used to be, but it’s still fun for friends to connect when they feel like fighting. The bad news is you can’t connect unless you are both playing on the same console.

Dark Souls 3 is a game you can play solo or with others, using summoning signs to lay a co-op marker. This is especially helpful for big boss fights or difficult locations. The more allies you have, the better your chances of survival.

While the game is available on various platforms, there is no crossplay feature, which is sad when you’re on Playstation and your buddy is on Xbox.

In Dying Light 2, you can use the multiplayer component to invite your friend to play alongside you once you progress a bit into the campaign. After the Markers of Plague quest, you can unlock the feature and invite friends to battle zombies alongside you.

Your friends can only join you, however, if you’re playing on the same platform. While adding friends to your party is fun, you may have to play solo if you’re the only one on your particular console.

It Takes Two is cross-generation but not cross-platform. For a game that was designed with just co-op in mind, it’s strange there is no crossplay option.

Red Dead Online was developed as a multiplayer spinoff of Red Dead Redemption 2. The action/adventure game lets you explore the Wild West either on your own or with your friends. The live-service world is ongoing and still experiencing changes.

Red Dead Online still doesn’t have a crossplay option, and there are no plans to add the feature. You have to stick to adventuring with players on the same platform.

One of the coziest games out there, Stardew Valley has a multiplayer option to let you visit other farms, as long as the owner is online. You stop by as a “farmhand” and even get your own cabin on the property as you fish, forage, and farm with your friends.

Unfortunately, there is no cross-platform multiplayer and no plans to add the feature. If you play on the Switch, you’ll never be able to visit a farm on Xbox.

Monster Hunter: World is the fifth in the series and introduced an online component to the game. All of the quests in Monster Hunter: World are available to play in multiplayer mode. While you can go through the game solo, it’s more fun taking down giant monsters with friends.

While the game is easier when you’re with a squad, you may not have all your friends joining in if they’re on different consoles. Fans would love a crossplay feature, if the developers ever get around to adding it.

While Elden Ring is played solo, there are ways to add your friends to the story, though they can’t stick around for the entire game. Co-op has some limitations and a complicated setup, but your buddies can join you to take down the big bosses.

While you can complete Baldur’s Gate 3 solo, as a Dungeons and Dragons-inspired game, it’s fun to add your friends to your party. Unlike other games where you drop in and out, you fully play the campaign together, all in the same save slot.

As co-op is a big part of the game, fans have been asking for crossplay. According to the developers, it’s a feature they plan to add in the future, so this is one game on the list we may actually achieve.
