Now That The God Of War Laufey Leak Has Been Confirmed, We Might Be Getting Playable Tyr And Excalibur
Yesterday, we were finally shown a very long trailer for God of War Laufey during this month's State of Play, the next game in the God of War series that will see us playing as Kratos' deceased wife Faye, as she fights her way through the afterlife of the gods. It's a pretty neat concept, though it wasn't much of a surprise, thanks to the whole game leaking online weeks before the presentation even began.
Interestingly, that leak (first reported by outlet MP1st) nailed a lot of things that we saw in God of War Laufey's trailer. It accurately predicated that the game would star Faye, and would feature several different mythologies, Mayan being a key part. It also predicted one of the trailer's weirder inclusions, that being the annoying jelly cube voiced by Jack Quaid, and the sword stuck inside it.
So, Where The Heck Is Tyr?
However, the more interesting part of the leak now that we're looking back at it is the stuff that wasn't included in the trailer at all. This leak, which has now been proved correct, also stated that the Norse god of war, Tyr, would be a playable character. How he ends up in the underworld of the gods is up in the air, but his inclusion is now a lot more likely.
The leak also explained that Merlin could be a part of the game somehow, tying English mythology into the mix too. If that's true, it seems fairly likely that the sword embedded in Phranque would be Excalibur, or that Phranque itself could be Merlin cursed to become an annoying jelly cube. It's all speculation, but it's now far more likely that both Tyr and Excalibur will play a part in the game.

He says, "It's dead. That game is not going to do well for what they expect it to do."
Posts 2 By Sam WoodsUnfortunately, we don't know exactly when we'll get confirmation, as God of War Laufey didn't have a release date when it was revealed last night. That being said, it has been suggested by Bloomberg reporter Jason Schrier that we won't be in for a multi-year wait this time around, as the game has already supposedly been in development for six years.
