After a summer of nerfs, review-bombings, and self-inflicted harm, Helldivers 2 is back on the up. It buffed dozens of weapons and strategems as part of its 'buff everything' update, and later released a patch that made Automatons "less frustrating." It was a show of support from the dev team, who, after a stellar start, made a series of near-fatal missteps.

But as the tides, and sentiments, are turning positive, players are once again trying their luck, asking for the Arrowhead Studios team for just a little bit more.

"The Orbital Laser Does Not Need To Have Limited Uses"

A discussion that's been bubbling under for a while now finally came to the surface this week, as a thread on Reddit asking for a change to the Orbital Laser hit 10,000 upvotes and received over 500 comments.

The main gripe amongst the Helldivers 2 community is that the offensive strategem has both a limited amount of uses and and a five-minute cooldown timer, something they feel is excessive, "especially when it's literally the only stratagem to include such a restriction, outside of vehicles."

While plenty of discussions have taken place in the thread, the general consensus is that it should be one or the other, with the cooldown timer the most popular option of the two.

One commenter raised a valid point regarding the stratagem's limited uses, saying, "I feel like nobody talks about that the one orbital stratagem with limited uses is the one orbital stratagem that takes no material ammo."

Alongside the Orbital Laser, another common request from the Helldivers 2 community is an Xbox version of the game. However, that may be easier said than done, with Arrowhead's community manager saying, "It's not up to us but to Sony and Phil [Spencer] to duke out, but hypothetically speaking, if both partners think it would benefit them from a financial/brand standpoint, it could. If Sony believes it won't though, it won't."
