The handeemen have trapped Owen in a realm controlled by them, and he has to get through multiple puzzle rooms to get the magic book's pages back so he can destroy them. Nick Nack's Great Stage is the first room you'll enter after finishing the starting puzzle, and you'll be in for a treat.
An Introduction To Nick Nack's Great Stage
After running away from Mortimer and reaching back inside your office, you'll get a short cutscene and you'll be able to head inside Nick Nack's door after that. Once you're in there, you need to solve a small puzzle to get out of the first area you spawn in. This puzzle consists of a wheel with different animal icons on it.
There is a wide range of animals that can be on this wheel, and you get five out of them randomly. Once you press the wheel, it'll light up and make a random sound. You need to press the button of the animal that the sound belongs to. If you get it wrong a couple of times, the puzzle will automatically fail and you'll have to try again.
As soon as you start the puzzle, there'll be a lever on the right side that will slowly start going up. Once it reaches the place it is in the picture above, you'll be out of time and the puzzle will fail. Upon getting three correct animals, the door to the first face and the main Nick Nack's area will open.
You have to repeat Nick Nack's room four times on different difficulties. You'll only get this starting puzzle on your first run, and you'll spawn directly in the main hall from the next one. Once you're out of the room, Nick Nack will tell you that he wants an audience for his performance.
To get the audience, you have to solve different puzzles on the map that contains three wings. Only two of these will be open during a certain run, which is also decided randomly. This means that you might get a different set of wings if you restart a particular difficulty again. In the main hall, a helpful map is available.
This map has markers for all the puzzles in the entire Nick Nack realm, and the active ones light up with different colors based on their current position:
Color
What It Means
Red
There are a lot of markers for the main puzzle in Nick Nack's realm, but only the active ones are marked with a red color at the start. You have to solve all these puzzles to get the main final puzzle.
Yellow
Once you've solved a certain puzzle but the required face is still inside the panel, it's marked as yellow. You need to get the face from this area and put it on the board.
Green
Puzzles marked with a green color mean that you've finished the puzzle and claimed the face inside it.
A puzzle marked with a green color will go back to yellow if the face inside it returns by any means. This can happen if you get caught by the puppet when you have the face in your hands, or if Vengeance triggers.
How To Solve Nick Nack's Great Stage Exclusive Puzzle
Nick Nack's Great Stage will have four to eight puzzles depending on the difficulty you're on. You'll have to solve four, six, or eight puzzles on Easy, Medium, and Hard difficulty respectively. You have to finish Nick Nack's realm four times, but the Medium difficulty gets repeated twice.
Most of the puzzles you'll get during your run are shared across Nick Nack's, Daisy Danger's, and Riley Ruckus' realms. But there is an exclusive puzzle that you'll find only in this realm. Since Nick Nack considers his performance an art, the exclusive puzzle is also related to art and paintings.
If you stumble upon one of these puzzles, there will be a big painting on the left side followed by four smaller ones on the right side. You have to find the correct painting from the smaller ones that is the same as the big one. There are two obvious differences in each of these paintings.
The time you get to solve this puzzle is very less, and you can't pay attention to every detail for every picture. Instead, you can try to find the two pictures that have one similarity with the main picture and click on them both.
How To Solve The Final Nick Nack Puzzle
Once you've retrieved all the faces from the realm and placed them on the green board in the main hall, the curtain on the wall will open to show the final puzzle. Here, you have to make a unique audience on each line. There are three distinctive features on every single face you have: Face Shape, Eyes, and Mouth.
You need to make sure that all the faces in a certain horizontal row don't have any similar features. The puzzle will not be solved if you have even one of the matching features in a row.
The puppet will constantly roam around while you're trying to solve this puzzle as well. The main hall in Nick Nack's Great Stage is quite dangerous, and you only have one locker directly in front of the wall containing the final puzzle.
If Nick Nack starts chasing you in this area, he tends to keep coming back even if you manage to evade him. It's important to try your best to not get caught.
Nick Nack's Special Performance
When you start Nick Nack's Great Stage for the second time, he will start having his special performance every few minutes. When this happens, Nick Nack's icon on the bottom right of your screen will turn red, and it will display the location of the special performance at the top. You have to find the stage in the respective area.
After reaching the location and getting close to Nick Nack, he'll put on a show for you. Once the show is done, he will expect one of the three reactions as shown in the picture above. You simply have to spam the key corresponding to the correct reaction to make him happy.
If you aren't able to start his special performance before the timer runs out or if you can't reach the yellow or green zone of the reaction bar, Vengeance will trigger. During Vengeance, the handeemen have an increased speed and you'll not be able to escape them if they see you.
If you have face cards on the green board in the starting area, Nick Nack will steal one of these cards and put it in its original position if Vengeance triggers as well.
Tips To Beat Nick Nack's Great Stage
While Nick Nack's Great Stage gets significantly harder with higher difficulties, here are a few things that you can keep in mind:
- Nick Nack has a terror radius. This means that the music will change and get scary when he's close by. When you're inside his terror radius, quick-time actions will be triggered when you close any door. To succeed in this action, you have to press the displayed key, and the time you get to react gets shorted with increased difficulty.
- On medium and hard difficulties, Nick Nack will start placing traps. The first trap you'll see are the red lights in different hallways. The handeemen will be alerted of your location if you step in the red light. The second trap will randomly cover your screen with colors, making it almost impossible to see.
- You can try an aggressive playstyle using the special performance interaction on higher difficulties. You can try to keep all the faces you get from different puzzles on you, and Nick Nack won't steal them during Vengeance. This way, you can use the time of the special performance to find and finish the puzzles since Nick Nack won't be around.
