There’s A New Trend In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, And It Replaces Poor Mutt
Summary
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 mods replace Mutt with Donkey, Nyan Cat, a hot dog, and more.
- Modders Omniscye adds new Mutt replacements from El Gato to Boo from Super Mario Bros series.
- The creativity of modders in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 offers unique and fun alternatives, but it may not reach Oblivion's level.
Since its launch in February, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has developed a vibrant modding community. Players have made Hardcore mode even more hardcore, for some reason, have turned everybody into skeletons, complete with their own skeleton language, and even added some of gaming's most iconic weapons.

Mutt Replacement Mods Are Rife In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Credit: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 via OmniscyeOne of the first Mutt replacements cropped up in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 a few weeks ago, but it was part of a wider package. More than 100 players downloaded a mod that replaced the beloved Henry with the equally beloved ogre Shrek, and as part of it, Mutt was replaced with his companion, Donkey.
Since then, though, multiple more that replaced the pooch have popped up from the same creator as the Shrek mod, Omniscye. While some of them are innocuous, changing the color of his fur, others replace his full model with weird and wacky creatures.
If you were around on the internet in the early 2010s, you're probably aware of Nyan Cat. And now, thanks to the creative modder, you can have the Poptart-bodied, rainbow-pooping cat in your game, replacing Henry's dog.
A more recent internet cat, El Gato, arrived on the TikTok scene after somebody misheard 'Arigatou' in Japanese as 'El Gato', and much like Nyan Cat, you can add this one to your game.
Rather litigiously, players can also add Boo from the Super Mario Bros. series as a Mutt replacement, but arguably our favorite is Glizzy Mutt.
Henry's beloved, yet annoying, hound can be replaced by a giant hot dog, complete with bun, pickles, and mustard, and it truly has to be seen to be believed.
It's another example of modders doing wonderful things, but there's no chance Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will catch the Oblivion Remaster any time soon.
