If you like blasting enemies with elemental magic, the Sorcerer class in Last Epoch is the perfect pick. You get access to powerful spells like Fireball, Lightning Blast, Ice Barrage, and Meteor, letting you destroy enemies from a distance. Sorcerers shine in ranged and area-of-effect combat, but they’re pretty squishy, so it's important to stay mobile and control the battlefield.

PostsOne build that's excellent at surviving and doing damage uses the skills Spark Charge and Frost Claw, the latter getting buffed during a patch. Its piercing ice projectiles freeze and shatter everything in the way. This build is all about quick casting and big area damage, which makes it great for leveling up before tackling endgame content.
Build Overview
This Sorcerer is a high-speed, spell-slinging powerhouse that excels in both leveling and endgame content. By converting Frost Claw's damage to Lightning and leveraging Spark Charges, this build delivers rapid, piercing projectiles that chain through enemies. The synergy between Frost Claw and Spark Charges makes it great for clearing mobs and tackling bosses.
As you progress, the build moves to skills like Static Orb and Elemental Nova. Flame Ward pumps your shields, and Teleport gives you an instant movement skill. With a focus on Intelligence, Cast Speed, and Critical Strike Chance, the Frost Claw Sorcerer is a powerful controller that remains effective even through empowered monoliths.
Stats
To get the most out of your Sorcerer, focus on stats that boost your spell damage, casting speed, and ward generation. These core stats keep your damage high and your defenses sturdy.
Offensive
Intelligence
Each point increases spell damage and adds to your ward retention.
Cast Speed
Lets you cast faster, which in turn lets you cast spells more often.
Critical Strike Chance
Increases the chance of your spells dealing critical damage.
Spell Critical Strike Multiplier
Increases the damage dealt by critical hits.
Mana Regeneration
Increases mana gain, which is very important for sorcerer endgame.
Defensive
Ward Generation
Each point increases your ward (like an overshield) so you can absorb more damage.
Ward Retention
Determines how long your ward persists.
Armor
Reduces incoming damage from all sources.
Resistances
Mitigates type damage (Elemental, Void, Necrotic, Poison). Try to cap these at 75%.
Endurance/Threshold
Reduces damage when your health drops below a certain point.
Passives
Building out your passive tree, you'll want to put points into nodes early on that up your Intelligence and Mana. The more you level, pick passives that increase your critical strike chance and ward generation, rounding it out with lightning damage and critical strike multiplier nodes.
Early Game (Levels 1–20)
Starting out, you’ll want to invest points into Arcanist and Elementalist to boost your Intelligence and Resistances. These nodes increase damage and improve your ward retention, which provides a buffer against incoming damage. Additionally, allocate points to Reactive Ward that grants ward when you take significant damage.
Midgame (Levels 20–50)
CloseAs you progress, begin putting points into the Sorcerer tree to amplify your offensive capabilities. Nodes like Calculated Destruction and Arcane Obliteration increase your critical strike chance and multiplier, making your Frost Claw hit harder. Simultaneously, continue investing in the Mage tree's Mana Shell and Warden nodes to bolster your ward generation and overall survivability.
Endgame (Levels 50–100)
CloseIn the late game, your passive choices should now be fine-tuning your build. Focus on the Sorcerer tree's Arcane Insight and Elemental Affinity to max your elemental damage and mana regeneration. More regen, more Frost Claw casts. Additionally, consider investing in Essence Surge to capitalize on mana spent, converting it into additional wards for sustained defense.
Consider alternate leveling paths for challenging endgame dungeons.
Skills And Specializations
When you're starting out in this build, focus mainly on Frost Claw and Teleport for quick damage and easy maneuverability. By midgame, you'll want to up your defense with Flame Ward and increase your AoE with Elemental Nova. Finally, as you reach endgame, invest heavily in Ice Barrage to ensure you can tackle tougher single-target bosses and content.
Frost Claw
This is your main attack, sending out tons of ice shards to quickly take down enemies. Go for skill nodes like Icy Flow, Rending Vortex, and Jolting Strikes to boost damage, projectile count, and stack debuffs like Frostbite.
Elemental Nova
Elemental Nova is great for handling big groups of mobs. Grow this skill with nodes like Arcane Projection, Infernal Prism, and Ash Frenzy. These help maximize AoE damage, critical strike chance, and adds elemental variety.
Ice Barrage
This skill can handle tougher targets and deals sustained damage while freezing enemies in their tracks. Grab nodes like Ice Shield, Intensifying Cold, and Nailed Shot to make it hit harder, more frequently, and land critical hits more often.
Flame Ward
Flame Ward is your big defense skill and helps you shrug off big hits. Put points into nodes like Stalwart Defense, Barrier, and Prismatic Buffer. These increase damage mitigation, boost your ward generation, and raise your elemental resistances, which you'll need in endgame fights.
Teleport
Teleport, your old faithful mobility skill, is great for dodging danger or closing gaps fast. Go with Elemental Affinity, Mana Tunnel, and Time Dilation to improve mana regen, buff your cast speed, and make sure you're always evading enemy attacks.
Gear
CloseEarly on, grab gear like Silver Rings to help you move quicker, and pick up Wands that boost your spell damage and casting speed. Items like The Kestrel (body armor) and Vial of Volatile Ice (Catalyst) are fantastic early finds that'll even stay useful later on.
As you hit the midgame, start looking for Catalysts that ramp up your ward generation, and grab Amulets loaded with Intelligence and critical strike chance. Rings like Ivory and Opal are especially strong at this stage.
Once you're in the endgame, aim for powerful Exalted gear with stats like increased lightning and cold damage, spell crit multiplier, and better ward retention. Unique items such as Prism Wraps increase Elemental Damage Resistance and Elemental Damage, and Mourningfrost Boots buff your cold damage based on how much Dexterity you have.
Twisted Heart of Uhkeiros is also a great defensive amulet to pick up.
