In the third chapter of Life is Strange: Double Exposure, Max goes 007 in an effort to discover the connection between Safi and a former Caledon University student named Maya Okada. Vinh claims that Lucas Colmenero is the key to understanding what happened with Maya, so it’s time to pay our favorite self-aggrandizing literature professor a visit.

You can find Lucas in the Fine Arts Building where, in the Living World, he’s seated in his office. You can have a conversation with him in the Living World, though his stonewalling means you won’t learn anything new on the topic. Once you swap to the Dead timeline, you can begin digging up the dirt.

Investigating Lucas’ Office In The Dead World

Infiltrating Lucas’ office is as easy as switching to the Dead World and opening the door. Once inside, it’s time to see what he’s hiding.

The big golden typewriter may attract your attention, but you can’t do anything with it for now. Instead, you can look in the bottom drawer of the filing cabinet near the door. This will prompt Max to collect the papers inside and spread them on Lucas’ table. Here you’ll find proof that Maya was in Lucas’ class, that she was meeting with him regularly, and that he was mentoring her on her writing.

The key to solving this mystery is on Lucas’ desk. Look at the family photo. You may initially miss that you can turn the photo in all directions, but you can and you should. There’s a key taped to the bottom.

During the pre-release period, this section had a major bug that affected multiple players at TheGamer. This has likely been fixed by the time you're playing this, but if the audio is cutting out for you and/or the “Talk to Lucas” objective pops up after you’ve already done it, locating the key should fix things.

Take the key but, wait, it doesn’t seem to unlock any of the drawers in the room. Time to revisit the golden typewriter.

Open it up and you’ll find all the evidence you need. Fair warning: you may not like Lucas much after this.
