The Toadstool Floatfish, one of the many fish specific to the Elderwood region of Palia, is a common fish that looks a lot like a jellyfish in the real world. You'll need one to complete part five of one of the main quests in Elderwood, The Nature of Shadows.

The floatfish is relatively easy to catch, if you know where to look for it. This guide will help you know the best spots to find a Toadstool Floatfish, and how to catch one for your quest.

Where To Find Toadstool Floatfish

The Toadstool Floatfish can be caught at any time of day, without any bait, in any of the saltwater bodies in Elderwood. This includes the coast of the Vieuxport Sea near De Mer Dock and Mauvais Way, as well as the Fallen Aqueduct in Deep Woods.

If you don't want to spend a lot of time trying to get one of these guys, fishing off the De Mer Dock is going to be your best option. You'll probably be able to catch multiple Toadstool Floatfishes in a row!

How To Catch Toadstool Floatfish

So once again, you won't need any special type of bait to catch a Toadstool Floatfish. They don't move around a lot, so you shouldn't have any trouble keeping the fishing reticle in the safe zone.

If you have the recipe for Fisherman's Brew, which can be obtained from Einar once you reach level five in your fishing skill, it will temporarily increase the size of your fishing reticle, making it easier to keep fish in the safe zone when pulling them in.

They do, however, jump once or twice, depending on how far out you've cast your line. So make sure you're not pulling in your line when they jump, or you risk letting them get away.
