- Kartana: Best Counter Picks
Pokemon Go has brought several Ultra Beasts to the game in their most recent season, the Season of Light. These powerful creatures rival the strength of many Legendary Pokemon, currently only obtainable through the successful completion of Five-Star Raids.

Kartana falls into this category as one of the Ultra Beasts currently in Pokemon Go, a Grass and Steel Dual-type that can only be acquired following their defeat in PvE Raids. We've put together everything you need to know before challenging Kartana in Pokemon Go Raids, including its specific weaknesses and Pokemon counters.
Recommended Group Size
As mentioned previously, Kartana can be found in Five-Star Raids, one of the many challenging PvE experiences currently in the game. That being said, this Raid battle proves to be less difficult than others that fall into the same category, most due to this Ultra Beast's double weakness to Fire-type attacks.
Itis recommended that you have a group size of two to four players when attempting to complete this Raid. As long as most players use Fire-type Pokemon, this group size should allow you to defeat Kartana relatively easily.
Kartana: Strengths And Weaknesses
Due to its Grass and Steel Dual-typing, Kartana has specific strengths and weaknesses when in battle, just like any other Pokemon in the game. For Strengths, Kartana is resistant to Grass, Dragon, Electric, Fairy, Normal, Poison, Psychic, Rock, Steel, and Water-type attacks. For that reason, make sure to avoid using Pokemon that have attacks of these types.
Kartana is double resistant to Grass-type attacks. This means that attacks of this type will do significantly less damage than those of other types.
For Kartana's weaknesses, this Ultra Beast is weak to Fighting-type attacks and is double-weak to Fire-type attacks. Due to this increased vulnerability, it is recommended that you use all Fire-type Pokemon when taking on this Raid battle if possible.
Using attacks that match the type of that Pokemon will do more damage.
This is known as Same Type Attack Bonus - STAB for short - and is extremely useful when trying to maximize your damage output.

Kartana: Best Counter Picks
Due to Kartana's double-weakness to Fire-type attacks, make sure that all Pokemon that you are using for this Raid are of this type if possible. For this reason, the top Kartana counter picks are all Fire-types, even though this Ultra Beast is also weak to Fighting-types. We have put together the best Kartana counters in the game based on this information.
Although the following Pokemon are the most effective against Kartana, you can easily find success using other Fire and Fighting types.
