Summary

  • Nintendo has revealed the bonus you'll get for pre-ordering Pokemon Legends: Z-A through the My Nintendo Store.
  • A figurine that features all three of the game's partner Pokemon options.
  • It also revealed items that will come with various bundles.

In typical Nintendo and Pokemon fashion, the release date for Pokemon Legends: Z-A was dropped out of nowhere via a random post on Wednesday. Both the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 versions of the next Pokemon game will launch on October 16, 2025, and if you plan on pre-ordering through Nintendo, a second bonus has been revealed, and there will also be some pretty unique bundles available.

Following confirmation of when exactly Pokemon Legends: Z-A will be here, a page on Nintendo's European site went live where those eager to return to Lumiose City can register their interest for pre-orders. To further tempt you to commit to the game early, it also revealed that pre-ordering Legends: Z-A will get you a Partner Pokemon figurine that includes all of the game's starter options - Tepig, Chikorita, and Totodile.

That gives Pokemon fans a decision to make. It was previously revealed that pre-ordering Legends: Z-A through the Pokemon Center will come with a plush partner Pokemon bonus. The same three starters, of course, but only one, not all three, like the figurine. You also won't be able to choose which partner you get, unlike the game.

More Importantly, What Am I Going To Have To Do To Get My Hands On That Umbrella?

There's a second incentive to buy through Nintendo instead of the Pokemon Center if you want more than just a plush or a figurine with your copy of Legends: Z-A. Nintendo has also revealed details about some Legends: Z-A bundles - Mega Evolution, Trainer, and Champion's Choice bundles, showing off the items that will be included with those bundles.

The figurine and bundles have only been listed in Europe, for now. Hopefully they will also be available in the US and elsewhere.

Which items are part of which bundles isn't clear, but the items that will be bundled with the game, if you want them to be, include a partner Pokemon pin set, Mega Evolution Charizard figurines, a cap, a mug, and my favorite Legends: Z-A bundle item of all, an umbrella. The bundle prices haven't been revealed, but how much the game will cost when bought all by itself is now known.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A will be a $60 game when bought on the original Switch, while the Switch 2 version is going to cost $70. There will be a $10 upgrade path for those who pick up the OG Switch version and get a Switch 2 post-launch. Legends: Z-A will be a real acid test for the Pokemon games. Scarlet & Violet had issues that can partly be blamed on the Switch's hardware. If those same issues are present on the Switch 2 version of Legends: Z-A, it's very much a Pokemon problem.
