The HeartGold & SoulSilver era of the Pokemon TCG gave us top-tier sets like Call of Legends, which celebrates the array of powerful Legendary Pokemon who had debuted up to that point. If you enjoy collecting the rarest Pokemon in the TCG, then Call of Legends is one of the best vintage sets you'll find.

Pokemon TCG: The 6 Most Valuable Lucario Cards

Lucario is ready to rumble with its most valuable cards featuring a trio of rare promos.

The best cards in Call of Legends live up to their prestigious reputations, as each of these Pokemon flaunts their fabulous shiny color palettes. Shiny Pokemon appear throughout the TCG's lifespan, boasting valuable versions in Neo Destiny through fantastic modern sets, Paldean Fates. These cards give us an alternative design of some of the best legendary Pokemon in the Pokemon TCG.

Cards are ordered according to their TCGPlayer Market Price, which you might pay on average for a copy of the cards below.

Given the age and rarity of these cards, only those with an established market price on TCGplayer are included.

However, sale prices differ depending on the card's condition, so this market price is just a rough idea of the card's value.

10 Entei (Shiny Holo Rare) – $88.97

Setting The Tone

This fierce depiction of Entei from Call Of Legends sets the tone for what you can expect in this set: shiny Legendary Pokemon in amazing action shots. While this stunning shiny palette sets a strong standard for what we can expect from the other shiny Pokemon designs, its price is relatively modest.

When one of the best Entei cards ever is an introduction to what's to come, you know you're in for something special.

You can find a damaged copy of this card for as little as $19.59, while it's almost impossible to find a heavily played (HP) card with no recent sales. However, moderately played (MP) cards can be bought for $40, and lightly played (LP) will only cost slightly more at $54. Expect to pay a premium for near-mint (NM) copies, which jump up to $90.

9 Kyogre (Shiny Holo Rare) – $110.03

The First Pink Palette Appearance

The pink shiny color palette is prevalent among a few of the best cards in Call of Legends, with Kyogre serving as the first entry into the Pink Pokemon party.

Cards like these highlight the contrast between the Pokemon and the background, making their appearance pop.

Damaged copies start things off at $52, followed by MP cards that creep up to the $55 – $60 range. Since these cards are popular to grade, you'll pay a premium for an LP copy, which boasts sales as high as $105, with NM copies rounding things out at $189.99 at their peak.

8 Deoxys (Shiny Holo Rare) – $115.48

A Trip Through The Cosmos

Deoxys is one of the most mysterious Pokemon ever introduced, with a shiny color scheme that's scarcely put on display given how rarely this Pokemon appears in both games and the Pokemon TCG.

This stunning shiny earns its spot as one of the most expensive Deoxys cards ever.

Luckily, you might be able to find a damaged copy for as little as $16 if you're most interested in the card, rather than the condition. However, MP copies sell for $50, followed by a significant jump to LP cards for as much as $88 at their high end, followed by NMs setting the ceiling at about $135.

7 Palkia (Shiny Holo Rare) – $125.00

A Battle For Pink Perfection

Palkia slides in front of Deoxys as the next entry into the pink-shiny color palette battle, throwing its hat in the ring alongside Kyogre for pink-shiny supremacy.

Friendly rivalries aside, this Palkia is a stunning card, but unfortunately falls just slightly short of a high placement.

This card is much more difficult to find than the others thus far, only boasting a handful of sales to its name with a much lower range of sales than Deoxys. However, the NM copies support the market price, as these cards peak at $135, compared to a single LP sale at $90, with lesser conditions falling as low as $24.

6 Ho-Oh (Shiny Holo Rare) – $126.99

On Rainbow Wings

Ho-Oh hits the gas and gets its neck in front of Palkia to edge closer to the most valuable card in Call Of Legends. While this valuable Ho-Oh card falls well short of the top spot, there's no denying it's easily one of the most visually appealing cards in the set.

This card is even more difficult to find than Deoxys, as sales lack an NM copy, capping out with LP data that soars as high as $134, leaving room for NM copies. While the $126 market price seems conservative, there's no telling where this card may go once the full range of conditions has registered sales.

5 Groudon (Shiny Holo Rare) – $150.00

A Glowing, Golden Groudon

Groudon clears Ho-Oh handily, as there are no doubts about this card's stunning appearance or sky-high price tag, as this Groudon card features a golden recolor for the Legendary Ground-type Pokemon.

You'll find NM copies at the top of the charts, clocking in with a sale as high as $150 – the current market price. This value is likely to change if LP cards continue to sell below $100, as there aren't many sales to support that current estimate.

However, the future looks bright with recent sales trending upward.

4 Dialga (Shiny Holo Rare) – $170.48

A Dominating Pose

While you might expect to see Dialga among the most valuable cards in the Diamond & Pearl era – its debut generation – Dialga reaches its potential in this stunning HGSS set, as it joins an impressive crop of shiny Pokemon.

This card luckily boasts an NM sale at $160 to give credence to the current market price. However, the money seems interested in buying these cards to grade, as evidenced by the huge drop in value for an LP copy, which costs about $85.

3 Suicune (Shiny Holo Rare) – $200.00

A Brilliant Burst Of Light

Suicune stands tall with arguably the most breathtaking design in Call Of Legends, as this explosion of light and color offers beauty and contrasting shades to satisfy any collector.

It's difficult to fully appreciate this card's magnificent use of shading and light without seeing it in person.

Suicune has seen a steady rise in value, with plenty of sales data to support its high market price. NM copies have sold twice for $200 and also have a $150 sale, setting a clear range for cards in the best condition. If you want a nice copy but prefer a discount, you can find LP copies for closer to $100.

2 Lugia (Shiny Holo Rare) – $282.45

A Whirlpool Of Color

Lugia makes an impressive run as one of the best cards in Call Of Legends, and claims the crown as the best shiny Pokemon with a pink color palette, taking the honors away from Kyogre and Palkia.

While you'll be happy to know that you can find a damaged copy for as cheaply as $69.99, even HP copies jump up to almost $130, followed by a massive markup for LP cards, which command closer to $230, with three sales in that range. Lastly, an NM copy leapfrogs the rest with an impressive $280 sale.

1 Rayquaza (Shiny Holo Rare) – $299.99

The Fabled Dragon's Ascent

Rayquaza claims its rightful spot as the most valuable card in Call Of Legends, as this Legendary Pokemon's black shiny color swap gives it one of the most elegant yet ferocious designs of any Pokemon on the list.

Understandably, you might be less interested in finding a perfect copy than an affordable one, and if so, you'll be happy to find damaged copies that cost below $70, though they're becoming hard to find. An LP copy flew into the $225 range, while NM cards can reach as high as $300.
