While there's no denying the incredible popularity of the Latias and Latios GX from Team Up, these Pokemon both deserve the spotlight individually. While the most expensive Latios cards bear remarkable similarities to Latias' roster in both design and price, the stark color difference gives each Psychic/Dragon legendary unique appeal in each of their solo appearances.

Cards are ordered according to their TCGPlayer Market Price, which is the average price you might pay for a copy of the cards below.

Given the age and rarity of certain cards, only those with an established market price on TCGplayer are included.

Sale prices differ depending on the card's condition, so this market price is just a rough idea of the card's value.

6 Alto Mare’s Latios: JP 10th Movie Commemoration Set (Promo) – $34.99

A City's Protector

While you might remember Latios and Latias' adventures in Alto Mare, you might not be familiar with Alto Mare's Latios, a promo card released as part of the 10th Movie Commemoration Set. This Japan-exclusive set also features other legendary Pokemon who appeared in Pokemon movies, including Latios' twin, Latias.

Alto Mare is the setting of Pokemon Heroes: Latios And Latias, where Ash encounters both legendary Pokemon as they help to save the city from evil.

Unsurprisingly, its exclusivity makes this card very difficult to track down, but there are a few sales across the condition spectrum on TCGplayer. Moderately played (MP) copies have sold for about $25, with lightly played (LP) copies slightly above them at $35. However, near-mint (NM) copies are much more expensive, with the cleanest copies of Alto Mare'sLatios costing $65.

5 Latias & Latios GX: Team Up (Secret Rare) – $80.59

A Perfect Pair

This valuable card from Team Up captures Latios with Latias, with the popular pair receiving a Rainbow Secret Rare recolor that fits their simple color palettes perfectly.

Pokemon with simple color palettes that feature large, solid blocks (as opposed to designs with intricate lines and detailing) are best suited to Rainbow Secret Rare patterns.

Luckily, this card isn't as challenging to find as the Alto Mare card, as you can find dozens of sales on TCGplayer to inform purchases, with damaged copies setting the minimum price at $24. LP copies bounce up to $54 and up, with NM cards ranging between $80 and $150 – an unusual variance at the top end of conditions.

4 Latios EX: Plasma Freeze (Full Art) – $99.99

Up Close And Personal

Latios Ex makes a massive leapfrog over its Team Up Secret Rare but falls agonizingly short of moving further up the list, with the next card less than a dollar away. However, this Latios art stands out from the other best Latios cards, as the close-up view and high level of detail combine to make this card a showstopper from the Black & White era.

If you love the look of this card, but paying close to $100 sounds a bit steep, you're in luck, as HP copies sell for as little as $13. If you prefer your cards to be in decent condition, LP won't even get close to the upper end of the spectrum, as copies tend to sell from $25 to $41. A sole NM card sold for $99.99, which is the current market price while we await further data points to analyze.

3 Latios Ex: Dragon Frontiers (Delta Species) – $100.23

Blazing New Trails

The first of two gorgeous EX-era Latios cards set the stage for its peer with an unsettling art portraying Latios flying through a mysterious cosmic realm. While Latios' location is unclear at best, the ethereal nature of the patterns gives this card a strong presence among other Latios cards.

Unfortunately, given the era and desirability of its cards, it can be difficult to find many listings in NM condition, as sales primarily range from damaged to LP, capping out at about $100. Without a recent NM sale to exceed the previous high set by an LP copy, this Latios can't eclipse its twin in Dragon.

2 Latios Ex: Dragon (Ultra Rare) – $139.59

An Ex-Era Grail

Latios' gorgeous depiction in EX Dragon portrays this legendary Pokemon perfectly, capturing every detail of its bold blue and white design with red accents.

The dull green and gray background provides the perfect contrast to make Latios the star of the show, as its colors pop and give it a 3D appearance.

While you may be intimidated by this card's market price, you can find it for as little as $26 in HP condition, offering an outstanding $100+ discount. Even MP copies can be had as cheaply as $45, though LP starts to get expensive, jumping up to the $105 range. Lastly, NM copies are hard to find, but a sale at $139.99 has helped to solidify the current price.

1 Latias & Latios GX: Team Up (Alternate Full Art) – $862.90

Making A Home The Top

It's impossible to forget the pairing of Latias & Latios GX in Team Up, with its presence looming large over any conversation of Latios and Latias Pokemon TCG cards. The most expensive card from the Sun & Moon era is iconic, quickly becoming one of the faces of the modern Pokemon TCG resurgence.

This card commands high prices in any condition, with damaged copies still selling for $500, with LP cards jumping significantly to $725 at the top end. However, nothing can compete with the NM premium, as the best copies can reach heights of $850, and perfect copies command even higher price tags when graded.
