Pokemon is eternal, and its trading card game, the aptly titled Pokemon TCG, remains just as vibrant as its video games. Expansions come and go, basking in the limelight before fading, but are never forgotten.
Age works wonders for the value of many expansions, as the prices of individual sought-after cards can skyrocket through the years. Yet in Shining Fates' case, many cards have gone down in value — meaning now's the time for collectors to grab and go!
Updated on Dec 16, 2025, by Andrew Scariati: The most valuable Shining Fates chase cards continue to fluctuate, with new baby shinies replacing out-of-favor options. Charizard stands strong as the best Shining Fates chase card, but there are a few major movers in the middle of the pack.
Cards are ordered according to their market price on TCGplayer, which is subject to change.
16 Dreepy (Shiny Holo Rare) – $4.70
Shiny Dreaming
Dreepy didn't always get the attention it deserved, with some of the Galarian starter Pokemon stealing the spotlight away from this first form pseudo-legendary Pokemon. While it barely breaks into contention among the most valuable Shining Fates chase cards, it's hard to predict where this card's trajectory will take it.
Many of the Shiny Holo Rare 'baby shinies' have fluctuated wildly in price, leaving room for newcomers like Dreepy to enter the conversation, as its price continues to rise toward the all-important five-dollar mark.
15 Applin (Shiny Holo Rare) – $5.08
Green Money
Applin stood out as one of the most under-appreciated in Shining Fates, but thanks to its recent rally, its value is finally starting to reflect this card's cute appeal.
Applin's evolutions have definitely received much more love in the Scarlet & Violet era, with a few Illustration Rares offering more detailed scenes to let you fully appreciate their designs. While there's not much color contrast on this card, its design still pops and makes it stand out as one of the most eye-catching cards in Shining Fates.
14 Koffing (Shiny Holo Rare) – $5.18
Rising Smoke
Koffing is yet another of a plethora of shiny Pokemon available in Shining Fates, with this green, gaseous Pokemon claiming a spot among the most valuable Shining Fates cards.
The shiny Pokemon holos are always desirable, featuring among the most valuable cards in Scarlet & Violet's Paldean Fates.
However, this Koffing – and many of the best cards in Shining Fates – are separated by only a few pennies, making this an exceedingly tight race for the most valuable card in Shining Fates.
13 Alcremie VMAX (Shiny Holo Rare) – $5.27
A Rising Cake
Alcremie surprisingly makes its way into the most expensive Shining Fates cards alongside Pokemon like Koffing. Most Pokemon are separated by the slimmest margin, with the ones to follow also boasting small leads over each other.
While some of the most valuable cards in sets like Battle Styles feature a collection of valuable alt arts, Shining Fates primarily boasts shiny Pokemon, making Alcremie's placement a bit unusual. While this card might drop out of the top spots at a moment's notice, Alcremie boasts a beautiful rainbow secret rare color palette.
12 Eternatus V (Shiny Holo Rare) – $5.46
A Slim Magin
Eternatus is easily one of the most recognizable Pokemon in Shining Fates, and its association with the set has only grown over time. While there's another Shining Fates chase card featuring this powerful legendary Pokemon, it doesn't hold the same value advantage that it once did, as Eternatus V climbs the ranks.
This card once sat forgotten out of the top 20, but as the set gets older, the cream rises to the top, with this version of Eternatus earning more appreciation than ever before.
11 Eternatus VMAX (Shiny Holo Rare) – $5.51
A Black & Gold Mess
While Eternatus VMAX grabs a spot among the most valuable Shining Fates cards, it doesn't seem ready to win many beauty contests, with Eternatus' complex body offering a confusing canvas for a predominantly black color palette.
If you enjoy the Pokemon, then this card should appeal to you, but the art doesn't make it easy to appreciate Eternatus.
Eternatus is another card currently riding the wave in Shining Fates, with many of the top cards dropping in price since the last time we checked in. However, these moments can be fleeting, so don't put too much stock in where each card is currently positioned.
10 Morpeko (Shiny Holo Rare) – $5.90
Leaping Into The Mix
Morpeko makes a huge leap into the middle of the pack as one of Shining Fates' best chase cards. This Shiny Holo Rare might not boast a visually distinctive shiny that stands out from its original design, but its color palette still pops thanks to the lighter yellow background of this card.
Morpeko made a name for itself as Galar's answer to Pikachu, with its iconic Hangry form reflecting how some of us might feel after going too long without a proper meal. Morpeko seems poised to climb the charts, as its association with fan-favorite trainer Marnie gives it plenty of reasons to stick around.
9 Poke Kid (Full Art) – $5.96
Everything Is Better With Eevee
Poke Kid is an oft-forgotten and usually underappreciated character in the Pokemon universe, as this card depicts them in their signature Eevee onesie. Adorable outfit aside, this card's vibrant background captures the joy of a bright, sunny day while providing the perfect canvas for Poke Kid to shine.
While this card remained humbly below the three-dollar mark for the majority of 2024, the turn of the year saw a massive spike that sent this Eevee fan soaring into the five-dollar range, where it stayed through the end of 2025.
8 Galarian Rapidash (Shiny Holo Rare) – $6.11
Everybody Loves The Unicorn
Next up on the list is the living Pokemon equivalent to the ever-popular My Little Pony series. Galarian Rapidash embodies the ferocious and Stoic nature of its Kanto counterpart with added mystical and magical flair (plus a hint of cotton candy). Its shiny form features pastel greens and yellows, which are on full display with its Shining Fates card.
Rapidash joined the five-dollar club, but wasn't able to maintain the mark, as it's one of many shinies from Shining Fates that are experiencing a slump in value.
7 Lapras VMAX (Shiny Holo Rare) – $6.49
Another VMAX Victory
Lapras' shiny Gigantamax design steals the spotlight thanks to its beautiful assortment of pastel blues and purples, which provide a beautiful background to Lapras' symphonic Aurora Veil icicles.
Full-art shinies typically command a premium over the smaller-framed 'baby shinies.'
Lapras is another example of a late bloomer, with this card's price floundering in 2024, finally soaring into the stability of the five-dollar range in 2025. While Lapras backed off from the new highs it made, it's certain to continue selling in a similar range until another market disruption.
