The Most Valuable Unseen Forces Cards In The Pokemon TCG
Unseen Forces is one of the best vintage sets in the Pokemon TCG boasting a strong roster of popular Pokemon to chase. This set of Pokemon follows Unseen Forces' theme perfectly, as each artwork depicts the Pokemon in a low-light scene, cloaked in shadows. This theme works exceptionally well for most Pokemon in the set, though a select few buck the trend with shining backgrounds.

Noctowl's long TCG career has yielded some valuable cards.
Posts By Andrew ScariatiWhile some of the most valuable Eeveelutions of all time stand out among the variety of Pokemon in Unseen Forces, plenty of other Pokemon offer more vibrant art to enjoy in the set. Whether you prefer everyday inclusions like Steelix or tend to enjoy legendary Pokemon like Lugia, you'll find something to love when you see the best cards in Unseen Forces.
Cards are ordered according to their TCGPlayer Market Price, which you might pay on average for a copy of the cards below.
Given the age and rarity of these cards, only those with an established market price on TCGplayer are included.
However, sale prices differ depending on the card's condition, so this market price is just a rough idea of the card's value.
10 Ho-Oh Ex (Ultra Rare) – $94.98
A Rallying Cry
The best cards in Unseen Forces begin with this Ho-Oh ex, as this Fire-type legendary unleashes a signature rallying cry as it stretches its wings. Though some of Ho-Oh's most valuable cards reach much higher values than this card, this art perfectly captures Ho-Oh's personality.
You can find this card in damaged condition for as little as $22 in some cases, though other copies have jumped to double that price.
Heavily Played (HP) copies of this Ho-Oh can command about $45, while moderately played (MP) will only be slightly more costly, registering a $49 price tag. If you're looking for a copy in better shape, then you can turn your attention to lightly played (LP) options instead, which you should expect to pay over $94 for, especially with near-mint (NM) copies lacking sales data.
9 Steelix Ex (Ultra Rare) – $106.46
A Bright Spot
There's no denying that Steelix is a surprise among the best cards in Unseen Forces, given that the other choices are pseudo-legendaries, legendaries, and extremely popular Pokemon.
However, Steelix has made a habit of surprising us in the Pokemon TCG, with a Shining card in Neo Destiny that soars into the stratosphere.
Luckily, you have plenty of information at your fingertips if you're in the market for this Steelix ex, as there are registered sales for copies across the condition spectrum. HP cards might drop as low as $45 in some cases, though you'll need to shell out about $90 if you want to upgrade to an MP copy. Strangely enough, NM copies only jump as high as $112, which isn't too far from an MP.
8 Tyranitar Ex (Ultra Rare) – $238.48
An Impressive Leap Ahead
While Steelix is no slouch, Tyranitar turns things up a notch with a terrifying depiction of this Dark and Rock-type Pokemon roaring in this Unseen Forces gem.

Posts By Andrew ScariatiTyranitar more than doubles Steelix's price, with an incredibly high ceiling for an NM copy, which registered sales at $249.99 and $279.99, making the market price seem like a bargain if you're able to find a clean card. LP drops to $169.99 if you just want a small discount, while you can find damaged copies for $40 if you just want to own the card.
7 Lugia Ex (Ultra Rare) – $258.00
A Dance Of Light And Dark
Lugia's no stranger to scenes with raging storms or pervading darkness, as this Unseen Forces card might be a source of inspiration for the Lugia V Alternate Art from Silver Tempest.
This Lugia ex portrays Lugiashrouded equally in shadow as it is illuminated in light, beautifully toeing the line between the two.
While damaged copies sell in an absurdly wide range ($39 – $99.99), you can find an HP copy for about $100, with MP available for around $159.99 if you'd prefer a slightly nicer one. As always, NM commands a hefty premium, soaring as high as $274.
6 Entei Star (Ultra Rare) – $277.88
The First Beast
The Entei Star from Unseen Forces is easily one of the most valuable and recognizable cards in the set, as it forms a trio with the other two Legendary Beasts. As one of the best Entei cards you'll find, this Entei earns its nearly $280 price tag, especially considering its peers' prices.
If you just want to own this beautiful card in any condition, you'll be disappointed to know it still costs about $128 in damaged condition, while LP copies skyrocket to the $240 range, with NM copies jumping into the 300s.
5 Suicune Star (Ultra Rare) – $335.00
A Tight Race
Suicune continues the Legendary Beast takeover, as these gorgeous Gold Stars sit head and shoulders above some of the other ex-cards in Unseen Forces.
However, despite holding a massive lead over Entei, Suicune and Raikou are neck and neck for supremacy.
Suicune is incredibly difficult to find sales data for on TCGplayer, though luckily two NM copies sold for $335 and $400, leaving Suicune's market price looking much more appealing considering the top end of the range. A damaged copy sold for $139.99, so expect to pay around there if you're satisfied with any condition.
4 Raikou Star (Ultra Rare) – $340.00
Clawing Its Way Up
Despite a strong showing from Suicune, Raikou captures the crown as the most valuable Legendary Beast Gold Star in Unseen Forces, narrowly dashing away from its Water-type compatriot.

Posts By Andrew ScariatiRaikou's sales are similar to Suicune's, but strangely enough, the NM copies only get as high as $340, with sales of $325 and $300. While it's understandable where TCGplayer got their value from, this Raikou seems likely to drop behind Suicune if there's another sale below $340.
3 Celebi Ex (Ultra Rare) – $399.99
One Of Johto's Best
Celebi takes the baton from Johto's Legendary Beast trio as this Mythical Pokemon towers over Raikou, Suicune, and Entei in price as one of the most valuable Gen Two Pokemon cards.
Celebi's spectacular art can be found for as little as $65 in damaged condition, but MP copies will cost an extra $100, settling at $169. LP copies will cost somewhere around $230, while an NM copy will set you back somewhere in the neighborhood of $400, though there's only one sale at that price.
2 Espeon Ex (Ultra Rare) – $418.45
A Glimmer In The Dark
Espeon's piercing eyes shine through the darkness in this thematically perfect Espeon ex, one of the most expensive cards in Unseen Forces. Espeon lives up to the set name, as the shadowy background gives Espeon a stealthy vibe, as its eyes glitter in the dark.
NM copies sell solidly at $499.99, with three sales at that mark to cement their value, though you can find a significant discount on LP copies, clocking in at $369.99 and under. MP drops to $220 while bargain-hunters will rejoice to see a $74 sale for a damaged copy.
1 Umbreon Ex (Ultra Rare) – $744.99
Alone At The Top Again
While it didn't earn the top spot among the most expensive Umbreon cards, this Umbreon ex finds its home atop the best cards in Unseen Forces.
This Umbreon perfectly matches the set's theme and is far more difficult to see among the shadows than its peer, Espeon.
Redemption is sweet for Umbreon, as it climbs as high as $999.99 in NM condition, with other sales at $549.99 and $489.99. On the other end of the spectrum, damaged copies dip as low as $115.80, with an LP card selling at $349.99.
