These crane games will later become invaluable to you as they are arguably the best source of income, providing you keep on top of using them, as you don't have to give a cut of the profits to your mascots. Here's everything you need to know.

When Do You Unlock The Crane Game?

You need to progress through the storyline enough to have met Fuku-Kata, and shortly after this point, Shiori will ask to speak to you and explain you can start selling mascot merchandise, and that's where the crane games come in.

Deliveries are made each evening, but you need to catch and win the merchandise in order to be able to sell it.

Once you've unlocked the crane game, there are several locations where you can play it.

All Crane Game Locations

  • North of the Promise Mascot Agency.
  • North of the Abandoned Tea Farm.
  • At the Recycle Store.
  • At the Fruit Farm.
  • West of the Old Water Plant.

You can play the crane game from any of the above locations. Stock is randomised each time and location does not affect which items are available.

How To Play The Crane Game

Every figurine you successfully pick up during the crane game will give you a set number of merch items with a specific combined value.

The items available to you are based on which merchandise you have collected from around Kaso-Machi (we have a full breakdown further below).

  • The glow of each figurine in the crane machine dictates how rare the item is, and therefore, how much the items are worth.

You can only press the up and right buttons once each per attempt, so make sure you keep the button held to take the claw as far as you need it to go before releasing it.

You can use the camera button to change the view if that helps you gauge where the claw needs to be.

Once you've cleared all the items, you can use the Recycle icon button on the far right to refresh the machine and have new items added, or exit out with your winnings to assign them to locations.

If an item becomes out of reach due to a bad catch, it'll likely remain stuck, so just reset the machine.

Resetting the machine does not put the current items back to their original position, but adds a whole new range of items.

How To Stock Merch

Once you've collected some merch from the crane game, you can assign it your available delivery locations. Each location has preferred mascot items, so they'll sell better if you assign them there. Additionally, locations with more customers will sell items faster.

You'll unlock new locations to sell merchandise as you unlock new mascot job locations and renovate new areas.

If you want to ensure you're getting specific merch, use the reset button and only target the mascot items you want.

Each location starts with zero stars but can level up to three stars by supplying it with items. The more stars a location has, the more money it makes.

Mascot merchandise will only appear once you have recruited the mascot in question, so each time you recruit a new mascot, new merchandise collectibles will appear on the island. Here's where to find them all.

    This crate is found south of the Mechanic, on the southern edge of the rice paddy field here, just north of the road.

  • Mellow Fujin-Kun Towel

    This mech crate is found at the Mountain Summit, north of the lake, on the western edge of the road leading up here, right beside the shrine.

    This merch item is found in the Game Center, near one of the shipping crates.

    This merch item is found southwest of the Mines, directly south of the phone booth, and northwest of the dead end path leading into this area.

    This merch crate is found southwest of Kaso-Machi High School. Follow the road that leads away from the rice paddies and it is just south of the second noticeable loop, right before the road merges with another.

    This merch crate is found south of Captain Sign, directly east from the crane game near the agency, about halfway between the road and the lake.

    This crate is found west of the large lake that is north of the Mountain Summit Lake. It's south the road that curves around the edge of the island, south of where the dead end that is north of here ends.

    You can find this crate southeast of the Fishing Marina, just west of the shrine that is beside the 'S' shaped path here and above the small inlet on the map.
