There's a lot to craft in Runescape: Dragonwilds. As you build your strength to fight the Dragonkin and defeat them, you'll need some good armor and weapons. In order to craft any good weapon or gear, you'll need to learn how to smelt bars, as they serve as the primary component for a variety of things.

How To Smelt Bars
Smelting bars requires you to build a furnace. The recipe for a furnace will unlock as soon as you acquire any ore, such as tin or copper, using a bone pickaxe, which can be crafted at a crafting table. After that, you'll need the following items to build a furnace:

You can easily find stone boulders anywhere on the map, and you will have to mine these boulders using a pickaxe. Alternatively, you can also pick up stones from the ground individually.
Clay

Clay can be abundant in the Whispering Swamps area, and you must mine these deposits using a pickaxe.
Charcoal

Charcoal can be crafted by burning any wood in a kiln.
Fire Rune

Fire Rune can be crafted from Rune Essence on a Rune Altar.
Vault Shard

Vault Shards can be obtained after defeating enemies inside a Vault.
After building a furnace, you'll have to put ores inside to smelt bars. Bronze is the only thing currently that requires two different types of ores: tin and copper. Other than bronze, you can craft a bar out of any ore if you have at least three of them in your inventory, alongside charcoal, which will be used as fuel for the furnace.
You can use the Detect Ore + Clay spell to detect nearby deposits of all kinds of ores and then use the Rocksplosion spell to quickly mine the deposit.
Additionally, you'll need a bone pickaxe to mine copper and tin ores, and at least a bronze pickaxe to mine any other type of ore.

Copper ore is abundant in the Fractured Plains area, and some reserves of it can also be found in the Stormtouched Highlands.

Similar to copper, tin ore can be found in the Fractured Plains in vast quantities.

Silver ore can be found in the Bloodblight Swamp.
