As the years go on, systems decline and rise in value, and sometimes, it's best to snatch them up before everything gets out of hand. That's exactly what's going on with the Xbox 360, as most of its games are still quite cheap, even with the slight surge that happened due to the July 2024 store closure.

Are you going to have to empty your wallet, or are you sitting on a gold mine?

That said, there are still plenty of expensive games, just not nearly as many as other systems. It's actually quite refreshing that there are only two titles above $500, compared to other systems that just get ridiculous with the prices.

All values are based on PriceCharting's complete price at the time of writing.

Updated on December 2, 2024, by Dominic Allen: Xbox 360 games have lowered in price compared to the booming period before the Xbox 360 store closure. That's great for collectors, so you can easily get the games you want, and even a lot of the rarest games come down in price. This list needed an update to reflect that, along with including one big rare game that was missing beforehand.

15 Gears Of War 3 Limited Edition - $176.63

The E-Day Hype

Often, when a new game releases or even gets announced in a franchise, the prices of older titles go up. You can see this in the Limited Edition of Gears of War 3. For a long time, this product was around $30 until the June 2024 Xbox Games Showcase happened and Gears of War: E-Day was announced. The Limited Edition's price has gone to the freaking moon, rising the entire time to $176.

This LE was the rarest out of the special variants of 360 Gears of War titles, and combined with Gears 3 being such an acclaimed third-person shooter, is what makes this product so valuable currently. Most price surges like this tend to fall off, but considering it has never dipped in price since June, it may not, at least until E-Day releases.

14 Fallout: New Vegas Collector's Edition - $182.52

The TV Show Effect

Sometimes, a new entry in a series, a new film, or a TV show comes out that balloons the prices of existing games. A great example would be the Armored Core prices after the sixth installment came out, and another would be the Fallout TV show ballooning the price of Fallout New Vegas Collector's Edition.

However much Fallout: New Vegas does or doesn't hold up, it still has some of the most unquestionably unforgettable characters of the franchise.

Before the excellent TV show adaptation, this product was set at $175. After, it went up to $278 before cooling down, like most products of this type, to $182. That TV show hype can only last for so long, so these price boosts eventually die out.

13 Rocksmith 2014 Guitar Bundle - $222.22

The Oddball 360 Rhythm Game

One rhythm game you may not remember is Ubisoft's Rocksmith. This title leaned more on the education-learning side of things, and one of the main selling points was that you could use any electric or bass guitar instead of buying an expensive plastic one often bundled in these games.

Despite this, Ubisoft released a Guitar Bundle anyway. If that sounds baffling, you aren't the only one. This bundle has to be one of the rarest Xbox 360 releases ever, with only one sale per year, according to PriceCharting. Seemingly, nobody bought this product, and it's easy to see why.

12 Rock Band Special Edition - $243.77

The Start Of The Most Critically Acclaimed Rhythm Game Series

It was a big deal when Harmonix left the Guitar Hero franchise after the second game. This was the developer who caused the rhythm game boom, and now they're working on a brand new project.

That project would be Rock Band, raising the playing field with up to four players, plus two new instruments: drums and a microphone. Rock Band 1 is definitely overshadowed today by its GOAT-tier sequel, but the first game's still revolutionary. As such, a complete in-box copy of the Special Edition costs over $200.

11 Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock Super Bundle - $250

Guitar Hero's Dying Days

A rhythm game that might confuse you in regards to its rarity is Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. For those unaware, this game ended up being the final entry in the series for a while due to the rhythm game craze crashing by the time of its September 2010 release date.

Not many people picked up this game, let alone still have the box for it. The contents of these bundles are usually sold loose, to begin with, and all of these factors make Warriors of Rock's Super Bundle vastly expensive.

10 Rock Band 2 Bundle - $267

A Rhythm Game GOAT

Out of all the rhythm games on the Xbox 360, none of them are as critically acclaimed or fondly remembered as Rock Band 2. It was a phenomenal sequel from top to bottom and led to some of the greatest experiences with friends for many players.

Along with its huge popularity at the time, you can understand why a complete in-box copy of its bundle would be so rare today. Most people did not keep those boxes, and with how well Rock Band 2 sold, that's going to result in a very hard time for collectors.

9 The Beatles: Rock Band Limited Edition - $281.27

Getting This Is A Real Hard Day's Night

One thing filling the catalog of the rarest 360 titles is rhythm games. The genre's boom was dominant during the first half of the console generation, and with all the various sets available, their value shouldn't be a surprise. The Limited Edition of Beatles Rock Band offers something special, however.

Since the Beatles are significantly older than most other popular bands, the guitar and drums offered are era-appropriate, being the same ones used by Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. This is a really cool touch that makes this set different from most others.

8 Band Hero Super Bundle - $299.99

Swifties Will Eat This Up

Band Hero has to be one of the lesser-remembered rhythm games, being essentially the same as Guitar Hero but with primarily pop tracks instead of rock ones. The title is notable today due to its heavy emphasis on Taylor Swift, who appeared in advertisements, is a playable avatar, and, of course, it features several of her tracks.

This likely makes the game desirable for her Jupiter-sized fanbase, but with how rare a complete in-box Super Bundle is, that'll probably be hard to do. Who's kidding? Swifties will do anything to get this.

7 Titanfall Collector's Edition - $300.00

You Probably Forgot This Even Came Out

Back in the early days of the Xbox One, one of its marquee exclusives was Titanfall. Being the first title from the now acclaimed developer Respawn Entertainment, it was solid enough, but a lot of people don't even remember that it was later released on 360.

12 Rarest PS4 Games And How Much They're Worth

While the PlayStation 4 isn't that old in 2024, it already has some pretty expensive game editions and hidden gems.

Posts By  Dominic Allen

Considering Titanfall was supposed to be a benchmark next-gen exclusive, releasing it on the older system baffled many consumers. The fact that most don't even remember a 360 port is a clear sign of its obscurity, with the Collector's Edition being incredibly valuable despite not having a low print run.

6 F1 2013 - $307.68

The Rarest Standard Xbox 360 Game

Most of the rarest games on the Xbox 360 are collector's editions, but one standard title costs $300. That game is F1 2013, and it's not because it's an amazing racing game that people forgot about. Three key factors make for a perfect storm in creating a rare game here. One, this title came out a month before the PS4 and Xbox One, which historically leads to high prices since most want to get these new systems.

Two, it had a very low print run. This is due to reason three, the physical release being delayed in the States, so you could only get it digitally for a while. That's why PAL region copies are so cheap. If people really wanted this game, they likely already bought a digital copy instead.
