Following a frankly ridiculous amount of leaks, Rayman Legends Retold, a reimagining of the 2013 masterpiece with additional content, has been officially revealed at tonight's State of Play.

Some time ago, it was reported that Rayman would finally be returning after more than a decade with two new projects. One, a remaster, which turned out to be Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition, and the other a remake, which was reported to be Rayman Legends. Considering how timeless Legends already is, it was more than a little hard to believe.

That has certainly changed over the past few weeks, though, as the Legends remake, Retold, has been leaking left, right, and centre, with most pointing to an official reveal during tonight's State of Play. Wouldn't you know it, that's exactly what happened, as we just got our first official look at Rayman Legends Retold.

The Rayman Legends Remake Is Real, But It Looks Very Different

Origins Has Also Been Confirmed To Be Getting An Enhanced Edition

Tonight's State of Play was filled with big announcements, but the most exciting for me and every other Rayman fan out there was the reveal of Legends Retold, which was confirmed to be coming later this year on October 1. As all of the leaks suggested, Retold is a 3D reimagining of Legends that completely changes the art style to a more realistic, 3D interpretation.

Retold isn't just changing up the look of Legends, though, as it's also adding a bunch of new content. Fully-voiced cutscenes, new levels, and 3D dragon-riding sections were all shown off in the trailer. It seems like there's much more of a story this time around too, which is something that was sorely missing from the original.
