Stalcraft seems like a simple FPS at first, yet it has plenty of customization and enemies to make it deeper and more challenging than you might expect. You may find some quests difficult to tackle, so you'll want to understand some mechanics and points to help you survive.

Even though the game seems challenging and may catch you off guard at first, there are some things to keep in mind to help you through the game, navigate the world map, and avoid radioactivity to complete the various quests thrown your way.
Choose Your Preferred Firing Style
As you play Stalcraft, you can choose between three main firing styles: single, fully automatic, or burst. Each has advantages and benefits for you to remember, so go through them and see what you prefer.
Shooting Style
What It Does
When To Use It
Single
You shoot one shot every time you use it.
Use this one if you prefer accuracy and going for a headshot. This option works best with a sniper.
Full Automatic
You constantly shoot the gun as long as you hold down the button.
When you plan to fight an enemy with a ton of health. The option helps with machine guns.
Burst
You'll fire a couple of shots as quickly as possible.
A solid in-between option that lets you take out multiple enemies with more health. Try this one with pistols and rifles.
Even though the shooting styles have their uses, you may want to mostly stick with one to ensure you have at least one you feel comfortable with, while only switching to the others as the situation calls for it.
Look For Other Players And Their Hideouts
Once you finish the tutorial, you'll need to choose between the Stalkers and Bandits factions. If you run into the enemy faction in the world, you can fight them, and they can attack you. So, instead of running around to your objectives, you'll want to scan the area for any signs of hideouts and enemies.
An enemy or animal hideout will appear as a red icon on your screen.
In short, the closer you get to these factions, the more careful you must be. However, you won't have to worry as much about animal hideouts. While they'll attack you as you get close, they're AI enemies, while the enemy factions are other players. Even if you become good at the game, enough enemies can easily overpower you and take you out.
If you find enemies chasing you, sprint and jump away. Doing so not only lets you potentially outrun them but also makes you more evasive. Running to the side will slow you down since you can't sprint and run sideways, so your best chance of escaping involves sprinting, jumping, and using first-aid kits whenever you take any damage.
Run straight into the nearest woods and hide behind the trees since you'll put cover between you and them.
If you can't tell whether you found an enemy or NPC, hover over them and press the Tab button. They're enemies if you lock onto them, and their health turns red. On the other hand, a non-threatening unit will have a green health bar.

Watch Anomalies And Time Your Bolts
Anomalies appear throughout the world of Stalcraft, so you'll need to use your bolts to stop them. Since vortexes, electricity, and other hazards can quickly kill you, you must react fast and throw out the bolts to take care of them. While it may seem like you can throw them a ton to get past the anomalies, doing so will cause you to take damage.
Instead, you should stand back and throw a single bolt at the anomalies. See how it reacts to the item, so you'll know when to run through it. For example, the vortex will deactivate once you see the ring expand. As for electricity, you can't run through until it disappears for a moment, so watch for these changes.
Focus On Quests And Your HQ
As you go through the main quests, you should start as many side quests as possible. Doing so will improve your reputation, giving you access to more benefits. Look for the yellow or purple icons on your screen to find different people, take care of their quests, and work towards higher levels in the HQ.
Each HQ level will offer you benefits up to level five. The fifth level benefits include the following.
- Getting the complete merchant inventory.
- Increasing the sales of your artifacts and mutant parts by 50 percent.
- Getting the full-size storage.
- Accessing 20 percent discounts on repairs.
- Enjoying 50 percent discounts on research.
- Getting more room in your storage.
It'll take some time to get those levels, so stay close to the area, focus on the quests, and use the benefits as much as possible.

Organize Your Inventory Regularly
You have a grid-based inventory system in Stalcraft, meaning you can move your items around and organize them to maximize your space. For example, you'll find four-by-two guns, so you can line them up if you have two. Each row in your inventory has eight squares, use them wisely.
You'll have to consider your first aid kits, bullets, and other small items to help you maximize the space. It comes down to looking through your inventory, figuring out where you want to place your items, and doing your best to carry as much as possible.
On top of that, when you loot corpses, you may want to use the loot all button to speed up the process. While this works well, you should look through your inventory in a safe area to see how you can optimize it. After all, you don't want to end up with a bunch of items and run out of space while you try to complete quests.
Use Your Personal Storage Before Leaving The Base
When you first gain access to your personal storage, you'll get various items to prepare for missions. You have a pouch of ammo, a crate of grenades, and a bag of personal first-aid kits. Using these will instantly restock your inventory with bullets, grenades, and first-aid kits.
However, you can only carry so much weight at a time, so you won't want to use all your items simultaneously. Instead, you should check your capacity and keep it below the Slight Overload amount. Doing so will provide space if you find any helpful gear after leaving the base.
An FPS game can be harder than you expect, especially as you fight and try to move through the quests throughout the game. However, if you understand the systems in place and utilize them properly, you'll find Stalcraft easier than expected.
