Cal Kestis Brings Turgle And An Optional Mullet To Star Wars The Black Series
Summary
- TheGamer can exclusively reveal new Star Wars: Jedi Survivor additions to Hasbro's The Black Series and Vintage Collection lines.
- A Cal Kestis set that includes Turgle, Skoova Steve, and the Jedi's mullet will be available to pre-order from April 18.
- Merrin has also joined The Black Series, and a smaller Merrin figure has been revealed as part of the growing Vintage Collection along with a Rocket Trooper from the Jedi games.
The Black Series is a line of action figures that celebrates all things Star Wars. Cal Kestis is making a return to the series in an all-new set, but he's not alone. The Jedi: Survivor star has brought Turgle, Skoova Steve, and Merrin along with him, and the Nightsister has also been added to Star Wars' Vintage Collection at the same time.
Even though Cal is already a part of The Black Series, this new figure is unique for several reasons. For starters, it includes a spare head so that you can switch up the Survivor's look. The second game in what will eventually be a Jedi trilogy had chests scattered across its maps with cosmetic options for Kestis inside. One of those chests had a mullet inside, and now you can own an action figure that replicates it.
Again, the mullet look is optional. We know it's not for everyone and, if you hate it, you can stick with Cal's standard look and lock the mullet in a drawer and forget about it forever.
An extra mullet is far from the best thing about the new Black Series Jedi: Survivor set. Making his debut in the collection alongside the Respawn series' star is Turgle. The debut of Survivor's frog man was brief, but it left a lasting impression. So much so that he now has his own action figure. Survivor's Skoova Steve is also included in the same set, as is BD-1 since no set that includes Cal Kestis would be complete without the adorable droid. The set costs $44.99 and can be pre-ordered below.
Finally, Turgle Has An Action Figure
And So Does Cal's Mullet
As mentioned above, Merrin is also joining The Black Series. Like Turgle, this will be the Nightsister's first Black Series action figure, but unlike Turgle, Merrin has been deemed notable enough to warrant a release of her own, as she should. Merrin's figure can be equipped with a spear or a dagger, and there's also a magic FX accessory to make it look like the figure is using her powers. It's significantly cheaper than Cal's new set at $24.99 since it includes far fewer characters and accessories.
via HasbroHasbro has revealed not one, but two Merrin figures today as the Jedi trilogy's Nightsister is also joining Star Wars' Vintage Collection. The Vintage Collection puts characters old and new into old school packaging, making them appear as if they were made and released alongside the original trilogy. The vintage version of Merrin comes with the same accessories but is slightly smaller than her Black Series counterpart - 3.75 inches down from six inches, which in turn brings the price down to $16.99.
via HasbroRounding out TheGamer's exclusive Star Wars reveals is a second addition to the Vintage Collection from Jedi Survivor - the Rocket Trooper. Players are faced with various forms of Stormtroopers across Fallen Order and Survivor, including ones like these that are equipped with rocket launchers. If you plan on picking up this one and the Cal figure, you can recreate the moments in the game when you used the force to throw the rockets back where they came from. Still one of the coolest ways to take out enemies I've ever experienced in a Star Wars game, and it'll cost you $16.99 to buy the Rocket Trooper that will allow you to recreate it.
All of The Black Series and Vintage Collection figures revealed above will be available to pre-order on Amazon starting from 3 pm EST on April 18, 2025, with the exception of the Cal Kestis and Turgle set which will be available from midday. All of the figures will be released this summer.
