Summary
- Lego has revealed a Star Wars logo set that will be here before Star Wars Day.
- The set is similar to the Marvel logo Lego set, but doesn't come with Minifigures that can jump out of it.
- The Star Wars set is cheaper than the Marvel logo and has A New Hope easter egg hidden inside.
Lego has been revealing a lot of new sets in preparation for this year's Star Wars Day, including a logo similar to the Marvel logo set released earlier this year. However, there's a key feature missing from the Star Wars equivalent that's arguably the best thing about its Marvel counterpart.
The Star Wars logo set is a recreation of the original Star Wars logo - a big yellow set that spells out the name of the series in the iconic font. It's 700 pieces, and since it is following in the footsteps of the Marvel logo set from the turn of the year, you'd think the new set would be loaded with mechanisms from which hidden Minifigures can leap.

Posts By Josh CoulsonUnfortunately, that's not the case. The Marvel logo has three compartments that can be filled with Minifigures, and then, when you hit the right buttons, they jump out. The set even comes with Minifigure versions of the MCU's original five Avengers. There are no such mechanisms built into the Star Wars logo set, nor does it come with Minifigure versions of anyone from the original movies, or any Star Wars media that has come since.

Don't Go Expecting A Little Darth Vader To Come Jumping Out Of It, Though
In the Star Wars set's defense, it's quite a bit cheaper than the Marvel logo set. It's $59.99, and you can pre-order it through the link in the box below ready for its arrival on May 1, 2025, in time for Star Wars Day. Even though it doesn't have Minifigures you can launch from it, there is a little more to the logo set than just big yellow Lego letters that spell out something you like.
There's a pretty neat easter egg waiting to be found in the top of the set once it's complete. If you remove the top of the T, there's a tiny Lego recreation of one of the opening frames from A New Hope. After the opening message that sets the scene is complete, a Star Destroyer is shown pursuing the Tantive IV. That means you can replicate what it feels like to watch the start of A New Hope in Lego by staring at the completed logo for three and a half minutes and then peeking inside. You'll need to fire up Disney Plus if you want to watch the rest of the movie though, or play The Skywalker Saga if you want to keep experiencing it in Lego.
There might be a chance to build a little more of the first Star Wars movie later this year if rumors of a Death Star set are to be believed. It will apparently be released in October and, at $999.99, be the most expensive Lego set of all time.

Similar to Marvel in early 2025, Lego has turned the original Star Wars logo into a Lego set. Although it won't have Minifigures that can jump out of it included like the Marvel set, there's a small compartment in the top hiding an easter egg from the opening scene of A New Hope.
