Summary
- Starfield modders have recreated Oblivion's starting cell in the game.
- You can even get Imperial Guard armour in place of the UC Police.
Remember earlier this year when a modder made the ambitious claim that they were going to bring Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim into Starfield, only to cancel it three days later? Fun times. Anyway, someone is recreating Oblivion in Starfield! Kind of.

The Bethesda formula has long overstayed its welcome, and Shattered Space proves The Elder Scrolls 6 needs to shake things up.
Posts 3 By James LucasThis is more than just a vague promise on Reddit, at least. They've recreated part of the starting dungeon, which you can download and see for yourself in-game right now. Using Blender and PAINT.net, they remade the original textures over 22 hours, building up the iconic cell "brick by brick". It even comes with the prisoner clothes.
22 hours for a fraction of a level puts into perspective how monumental a task recreating the entire game would be. Hell, an entire team has been remaking Oblivion in Skyrim for over a decade, and it's still not finished! So, I doubt we'll see the entire thing in Starfield anytime soon, but they plan to finish the first dungeon before Skyblivion and maybe even that first area you see when stepping out of the sewers.
Some Other Fun Oblivion Mods You Can Download
If you're hankering to make Starfield feel even more like Oblivion than cramming the starting cell into the game, there are a few good choices out there. You can overhaul certain sound effects, or you can replace the UC Police with The Imperial Guards; stop right there, Starborn scum! Otherwise, you can swap the Starfield main menu for Oblivion's.
The modding community isn't quite as bustling as Skyrim's, so there are far fewer options, but it'll be interesting to see where this more ambitious Oblivion-in-Starfield mod goes. Frankly, I'd be happy just to see Kvatch on the moon.
