Super Mario Party Jamboree: Complete Party Planner Trek Guide
When you first begin Super Mario Party Jamboree, you'll notice that Kamek is in the Party Plaza fretting about the decorations on each of the different game boards. If you're feeling generous, Kamek and the characters around each board will appreciate your help!
RelatedWhich Is More Important To You In Mario Party: The Boards Or The Mini-Games?
You know, if you're looking at Mario Party games, and you see more mini-games in one at the cost of a relatively paltry number of boards, and then you're looking at another entry, and it's got the reverse problem... okay, I'm 100 percent going through this dilemma today.
PostsWith 60 Mini Stars on each Party Planner trek board in Super Mario Party Jamboree, you'll be receiving plenty of fun Party Plaza decorations for all your efforts! Play minigames, run errands, complete Jamboree Buddy showdown games, and more as you work to finish the decorations on the five new boards added in Super Marion Party Jamboree.
How To Play The Party Planner Trek
Play Minigames And Complete Errands To Earn Mini Stars On Five Game Boards
If you're looking for a good single-player game mode to keep yourself occupied between rounds of Mario Party with friends, one of the options you've got in Super Mario Party Jamboree is the Party Planner Trek! When you're given the introductory tour of the game and Party Plaza when you first begin playing, Toad mentions that Kamek is in the Party Plaza working on decorations, and he seems pretty stressed about it.
You'll find Lakitu to the side of the Balloon in the Plaza, to the right of the online connectivity portal beside the Balloon. When you're ready to take on the Trek, speak to Kamek, who will whisk you away to the first of five total game boards to begin helping him and his team with their prep work. Your progress is tied to the character you're playing, with each game offering three total save slots.
To help with the planning and preparations, you're brought to each of the five original boards in Super Mario Party Jamboree, without maps available for Western Land and Mario's Cloud Castle. This mode allows you to walk freely around the game boards and interact with plenty of things that aren't normally there during standard Mario Parties. And good thing, because you'll need to explore each board fully in order to find and complete each task.
As you walk around each of Jamboree's original game boards, you'll be completing tasks to help finish the preparations on that board. Plenty of things have been changed from the standard Mario Party mode - there aren't colored spaces on the ground, there are characters there that don't normally appear, pathways may be closed off, and shops are almost always closed. But there's plenty of new stuff going on around the board, too, and that's usually how you'll progress in the Party Planner Trek.
The goal of the Party Planner Trek is to collect at least 30 Mini Stars by finishing tasks and playing games around the current game board. In total, there will always be 60 Mini Stars available on each board, but you'll only need to collect 30 before being allowed to move on. That said, there's definitely merit to finishing each board completely, like achievements, bonus decorations, and more.
You'll earn Mini Stars in the Party Planner Trek in a number of ways, which remain the same no matter which of the five game boards you're currently playing on. By the end of the Party Planner Trek, you'll have played all four-player, two-versus-two, one-versus-three, duel, item, and Showdown minigames, each of which offers Mini Stars and allies.
There are different Mini Star payouts depending on what your task is at any given location, and, if it's based on a minigame, your reward is also tied to how well you do in said game. These include:
- Playing four-player games, with a different number of Mini Stars as the prize for first, second, and third place.
- Playing one-versus-three games as the solo player and coming out on top.
- Playing two-versus two games with a CPU with the goal of being the victorious team.
- Playing Jamboree Buddy Showdown games, which also convinces that character to help you in your upcoming boss fight.
- Running errands for characters around the board, who may ask you to deliver items or find missing objects.
- Helping around the board by engaging in dialogue with characters with exclamation points over their head, who may have a simple task they need your help with.
After you've received 30 Mini Stars from any of the above methods after talking to characters around the board, Toad will summon you back to the start to talk about the jar of Mini Stars, but on each board, a boss character will steal the Mini Stars, and it's up to you (and any Jamboree Buddies you may have unlocked on that board) to stop their nefarious theft!
The minigames are fairly straightforward, but each boss fight is made easier by having allies. It's not a bad idea to ensure you've done the Jamboree Buddy Showdown games on the current map before engaging in the boss fight - more hands make less work! If you're not ready to play the boss minigame when Toad calls you over, you can tell him so and be
Following your victory in the boss minigame, the enemy will return the container of Mini Stars, and your allies return to their spots on the Party Planner Trek map. After the boss has been defeated, you'll be given the option to stick around the current game board to keep collecting Mini Stars there, or Toad can also take you directly to the next map if you'd rather move on along. You can also choose to re-challenge the boss at any time by interacting with the sign of them near Toad on that board.
For each boss fight you complete, you'll unlock a special topiary of that boss to place on the garden plots near the lift to the Party Planner Trek back in the Plaza.
Take Lakitu's Quizzes On Each Board For Big Rewards
As you wander through every board in Super Mario Party Jamboree, you'll find Lakitu floating on his cloud in one spot, and he's waiting to give you a trivia quiz about the current game board. Lakitu's quizzes test your knowledge of the new boards in Jamboree, so it may not be bad idea to wait to take the quiz until you're comfortable with the little details about each board. Each quiz has ten questions.
For each question you get right, Lakitu will reward you with one Mini Star, with ten Mini Stars per board to offer if you complete all of his questions. You can keep going straight through the quiz once you've begun, or you can stop after every question and come back later. Additionally, if you get it wrong, Lakitu will simply force you out of the dialogue, and you'll be able to talk to him again immediately to try another answer without penalty.
For each board in the Party Planner Trek, we've included a table for all answers to Lakitu's quizzes to help you nail the answers the first time, every time!
Earn Party Plaza Decorations For Finishing Certain Tasks
It's not long into the first map before you receive one, but in addition to MIni Stars to help you progress through the Party Planner Trek, you'll earn assorted decoration items to use in the Party Plaza! The Plaza is fun on its own, but wouldn't it be way cooler if you could completely customize the Party Plaza on your account?
By earning decorations in the Party Planner Trek, you'll be able to customize the posts beside each shop, your banners, the fountain, the plants behind the Plaza, the tile, the balloons, the stakes in the hedge, and special effects. Certain characters reliably give you the same type of item, so be sure to work diligently to collect all decorations in Super Mario Party Jamboree!
Reliable item unlocks as you progress through the Party Planner Trek include:
- A new fountain from Toad each time you defeat a boss on a new board.
- Balloon decorations from completing Lakitu's quizzes, one for each board and one for finishing them all.
- Boss topiaries from defeating the boss on each board.
- Tiles come from finishing every task on each board and getting all 60 Mini Stars on every one.
- Stake decorations are unlocked each time you earn a Jamboree Buddy by beating a Showdown minigame, with stakes available themed to each of the 10 Jamboree Buddies.
Speak to Kamek in the Plaza at any time to customize the appearance of your profile's Party Plaza using the decorations you've unlocked, and check back regularly once you've earned new things to see what kinds of changes you can make! The option to do so is just below where you tell Kamek you're ready to progress on the Trek.

Goomba Lagoon Boss: Dragoneel
For an easier time taking on Dragoneel at the end of Goomba Lagoon in the Party Planner Trek, consider first unlocking the allies for this board: Mario, Toad, Spike, and DK. To take out Dragoneel, you'll need to play Dragoneel Slayers, tasking you with riding a jetski to collect shells to lob at Dragoneel when it breaches the surface. Watch out for obstacles in the water as you grab your shells!
Dragoneel will try to attack you and suck you into a whirlpool before it pops out of the water and is able to be targeted, and you'll lose a few of your gathered shells if you get sucked in. At half health, not only will there be larger obstacles in the water during the shell collection phase, but you'll also find more of them along the waterway.

On the Mega Wiggler's Tree Party map, you're up against Mega Stingby, so grab your allies for this board: Peach, Toadette, Monty Mole, and Yoshi. At the halfway point, you'll notice that not only does Mega Stingby remove the middle two platforms on the top row, limiting you and your teammates to one side or another for the most part, but it also summons support Stingby enemies that'll knock you back and cost you points when you're struck.

Rainbow Galleria Boss: Mega Rocky Wrench
The boss fight against Mega Rocky Wrench in Rainbow Galleria, Mega Rocky Wrench Wreckers, is made far easier by bringing along some allies (like Luigi, Wario, Goomba, and Birdo). Here, you'll need to follow Mega Rocky Wrench as he moves between openings on the ship and fire cannonballs at him when he's exposed.
He'll move quite a bit before picking a spot, so keep your reticle in sight and aim quickly when he pops up. At the halfway point in the game, not only will you be up against more Rocky Wrench allies popping up to confuse you in the search for the boss, but you'll also need to contend with wrenches being thrown at you and the team by making sure to shoot down wrenches before they hit you and cost you a few points.

Roll 'Em Raceway Boss: Sumo Bro
Hopefully you're decent with all things electricity when you and your allies (Daisy, Waluigi, Bowser, and Shy Guy) gather at the starting line to play Boss Sumo Bro Blitzers. Here, it's up to you and your team to each solve a puzzle that makes electricity flow in your circuit, which you'll do by clicking the rotatable pipe tiles on the grid in front of you. The quicker you are, the more damage you deal.
At the halfway point in the game, you'll not only have more panels exposed that you need to work through to get the current flowing, but regular-sized Sumo Bros occasionally rotate your tiles, focusing specifically on ones you've already connected to the main current and forcing you to double-back to fix them.

King Bowser's Keep Boss: Impostor Bowser
At long last, it's time to face the meanest Super Mario Party Jamboree boss battles as you take on Impostor Bowser for the first time in this particular game mode! Be sure to bring along your allies for this board (Bowser Jr., Rosalina, Koopa Troopa, and Boo) as you challenge Impostor Bowser in his game, Bowser Crashers.
The goal is to charge your rockets to deal more damage before blasting off at Impostor Bowser. The longer you charge, the more damage you'll do! At the halfway point, not only does the perspective of the game change to put the camera behind you and the team, but Impostor Bowser will lay on a series of tricky counter-attacks that interrupt your charge and steal one point from your total if they hit you.
