Summary

  • Despite being shut down, someone out there has Concord open right now.
  • You can't do anything, since the servers and even the developer have been closed, but there they are, 'playing' Concord.
  • It's a waste of storage space, and you're not able to do anything in-game, so I can't figure out why you'd bother. Maybe it's a bit.

You can't play Concord anymore. The servers were taken offline, digital PlayStation copies were revoked and refunded, and developer Firewalk Studios was even shut down. That hasn't stopped this one Steam player, however.

Bizzarely, someone has the game open and is sitting there, idly. Again, Concord doesn't exist anymore, there aren't even empty servers to wander around in like an MMO ghost town. Whoever has the game open is wasting storage space to stare at nothing, but I hope they're having fun at least.

Maybe they're just really excited for the Secret Level episode.

What's strange is that they aren't alone. Over the last 30 days, Concord has amassed a peak concurrent player count of two. That's two people in the game at the same time, sitting at their desk, unable to cross paths.

Who Are You?

I honestly expected them to have quit the game by the time I got this far into writing the article, but there they are, still keeping that chart on a flat, green line. I just want to know who you are and why you're bothering to 'play' the game months after it was unceremoniously killed off.

October saw a peak player count of five.

Maybe it's a bit, opening Concord on Steam to confuse your friends? I've no idea. But it's lit a fire under me, so I went and looked at some other dead games you can't play anymore.

Babylon's Fall has a peak monthly concurrent player count of one, somehow. Again, who are you? The Day Before also has a peak of one, while Knockout City has a 24-hour peak of one, and Paragon: The Overprime a peak of two!

I don't know what to do with this information, not sure what you'll do with it either, but hopefully whoever these people are come forward and say hello.
