After multiple patches, the best team compositions in Teamfight Tactics have changed slightly, with one unique composition rising in popularity. It revolves around one of the rarest things in the game's history: a one-unit frontline.

Posts By Michael CzarnowskiYou did read that right, as the Hunter Wukong composition revolves around his unique Druid trait that offers him higher base stats than other tank units. Three-star him, and his partner in crime Jinx, and you have a scary team that will leave your opponents questioning why this Wukong is near unkillable. Need to know more about the Hunter Wukong team? Keep reading.
All Units In The Hunter Wukong Team Composition In Set 12
To start, here are all the units you'll need for the Hunter Wukong team composition.
- Twitch (Frost/Hunter)
- Nomsy (Dragon/Hunter)
- Zilean (Frost/Chrono/Preserver)
- Jinx (Sugarcraft/Hunter)
- Bard (Sugarcraft/Scholar/Preserver)
- Wukong (Druid)
- Olaf (Frost/Hunter)
These are the key seven units for the composition, with the most important units being Wukong and Jinx.
However, if you get a Hunter emblem, there is an opportunity to reach six Hunter units active at once. If that happens, place the Hunter emblem on Bard and get a Kog'Maw to easily hit that final version of the Hunter trait.
Aside from that, the focus for this team is to three-star Wukong and Jinx with their key items. Wukong will be strong enough to handle almost anything he faces, while Jinx can spiral into an extremely useful carry unit.
How To Level Up With The Hunter Wukong Team Composition
With this team's focus on its two three-cost carries, the goal for this team is to reach level seven and roll down your money to three-star them.
This means you should level up to four at 2-1, five at 2-5, six at 3-2, seven at 4-1, and then eight and potentially nine anytime after you hit three-star Jinx and Wukong. Until you get one or both of those three-costs three-starred, that is the number one priority.
There aren't many options for substitutes, as thankfully most of the units in this composition aren't rare to get. However, some of the best substitution options are Vanguards like Blitzcrank and Mordekaiser to fill in for Wukong, and Kog'Maw for Jinx if you don't get that Hunter emblem and need damage output to win rounds.
Best Items For The Hunter Wukong Team Composition
When it comes to this team, there are only two units that truly need a trio of items on them to win games. There is the potential to put extra items on a third and fourth unit, but the two carries of Wukong and Jinx need those items more than anyone else.
Character
Item
Description
Wukong
- Gargoyle's Stoneplate (x2)
- Warmog's Armor
Due to his passive and active ability, the goal for Wukong is to stack both Armor and Magic Resist, and the Stoneplates do just that while the Warmog's Armor gives him that boosted health.
Jinx
- Guinsoo's Rageblade
- Last Whisper
- Runaan's Hurricane
For Jinx, the goal is to give her that scaling Attack Speed with the Rageblade while giving her other on-hit effects.
Bard
- Blue Buff
- Hunter Emblem (if available)
Blue Buff can be handy to weaken other enemies for Jinx and Wukong, while the Hunter Emblem allows the player to potentially hit six Hunters active at once.
Olaf
- Bloodthirster
- Edge of Night
- Sterak's Cage
In the late game, getting a two-star Olaf with a Bloodthirster alone allows for both a second tank and damage dealer.
If you get extra tank items, there aren't any good choices outside of Olaf or Zilean. However, extra physical damage items can be split between Twitch, Nomsy, and Olaf while extra magic damage items can be on Bard or Zilean.
Lastly, positioning for this team is relatively simple, with the goal to put Wukong in the frontline, in the dead centre of the board, alone. Then, place Jinx in a corner with the Bard, Zilean, and Olaf for protection around her, while Twitch and Nomsy sit in the other corner to poke enemies down.
