Completing the eleventh case unlocks a playable epilogue. It's shorter than the other cases and there's no real exploration phase like in the others, but it still has some devious logic-bombing to do and might serve to offer up some mindblowing revelations to you.

Every Answer To The Epilogue's Thinking Mode

There are three panels in this scene, and only a few things to examine. You're provided with all the necessary terms to begin with, so you simply need to arrange them in the right order and get to work out the final Series of Events.

  • It's a good idea to head back to the first case and start going through them all, one by one, to familiarize yourself with the game's plot. The epilogue serves as a retelling of the story with extra details, letting you know the truth of things.
  • Remember that when somebody is using a pseudonym, the game treats them as their disguise.
  • Most of the blanks can be filled in by being logical about the events of the story - there are no attempts to trick you here.
  • The game is broken down into three chapters - the first panel covers cases 1-4, the second panel covers cases 5-7, and the final panel covers cases 8-11.

Full Solution

The full story is thus:

Sebastian Cloudsley left the idol to the Brotherhood in his will but then David Gorran, on Edmund Cloudsley's orders, stole the idol and accidentally stabbed Willard Wright. The Brotherhood tasked Walter Keene to punish Edmund Cloudsley and recover the idol, but his attempts were fruitless.

During one attempt, Walter Keene was captured and Edmund Cloudsley convinced him to join his side. Edmund Cloudsley used the idol to make himself young and infiltrated the Brotherhood under the new identity of Lazarus Herst. Then he claimed to be Gryphon Reborn and transformed the Brotherhood into the Order Party.

Brotherhood Masters Alistair Koch and James Turner helped Lazarus Herst seize power in the country and enforce the rule of virtues by taking youth away from common people and giving it to the Order Party members. Right before the final showdown with the uncooperative king, Lazarus Herst wanted to kidnap Mary Battley but was shot by Peter Battley and the idol was broken.
