But of course, there are plenty of secrets to find before you reach the end of that chapter, and that’s after you’ve decided whether Charlie lives or dies when Erin reveals he may have been complicit in Du’Met’s plans. Follow along with our guide to save your crewmates!
The Devil in Me, like the other games from The Dark Pictures Anthology, can play out in a number of ways based entirely on the decisions you make along the way.
And because there are so many, we’ve made all the decisions and found all the secrets in an attempt to bring you complete coverage of The Devil in Me.
Setting Up For Charlie’s Fifth Potential Death – Erin’s Accusations
No matter who is still alive in this scene, you’ll be playing as Mark. He will be joined by Charlie and Erin (unless they died prior). If either Jamie or Kate died in the hotel, Erin will tell them about it here.
The real difference in this scene comes from whether Erin found the tape in the Silver Ash scene that implies Charlie was working with Du’Met to get everyone to the island. She accuses Charlie directly and tries to coerce Mark into agreeing.
The scene changes entirely depending on how Mark replies.
Mark's Decision
If Mark sides with Erin
Mark ties Charlie to the fence outside the lighthouse, and only Mark and Erin go inside to progress the scene.
If Mark sides with Charlie
Mark tries to calm Erin down, and the scene progresses into the lighthouse with everyone present.
If Charlie is tied up outside, Mark and Erin will find more voicemail tapes inside the lighthouse, revealing that Erin was mistaken. Mark agrees to untie Charlie after they get the lighthouse working. You won’t see the resolution until the following scene.
If you did not tie charlie up, he follows you into the lighthouse.
Investigating The Lighthouse
This area is dark, even with your game brightness turned up. Make ample use of Mark’s camera flash here for easier navigation.
Climb the first set of stairs in this room when you regain control of Mark. On a nearby table is a List of Aliases, which is the first of several collectible secrets in this scene.
The final of Du’Met’s five business cards is in this room as well. It’s on the floor under the window between the armoire and the chair. If Charlie is still alive, this is the room where you’ll find the doctored phone call tapes.
In the next room, not far from the tapes, is the Degree Certificate, sitting in a box on a table in the corner. After that, climb the next set of stairs and go into the room to the left. You can find the boat key by one of the windows, as well as the Returned Letter secret.
Once you have everything, find the next set of stairs to head up to the light itself.
Turning On The Lighthouse
Mark can head immediately inside the control room for the lighthouse, but without power, the button in here doesn't do anything.
In order to restore the power, leave the control room and turn left toward where the balcony has fallen away. Mark can shimmy along the thin piece of the balcony that remains to cross the gap.
Finish rounding to the other side of the lighthouse and interact with the fuse box against the wall. Shimmy back to the control room and return to the button Mark was pushing before. With the power restored, the light works when you hit the button now.
As soon as the power is back on and the light is shining, the scene ends.
