One set that’s been gaining traction in the PvP scene is Oakfather’s Retribution. Built for players who want to use enemy buffs for massive damage boosts, this set offers an aggressive playstyle for DPS characters in PvP. Here's everything you need to know about what the set does, and how to get it.

What Is Oakfather’s Retribution?

Oakfather’s Retribution is a light armor DPS set you can obtain by participating in PvP activities in Cyrodiil. Cyrodiil is a huge open-world battlefield where players fight to capture keeps, defend strongholds, and complete missions for their alliance. You’ll be battling real players across a massive map, earning Alliance Points (AP)and special rewards.

The set covers light armor, jewelry, and all types of weapons and shields, giving you a lot of flexibility for your build. The bonuses focus on boosting Weapon and Spell Damage, while the five-piece bonus cranks up your Offensive Penetration and damage output based on how many Major and Minor Buffs your enemies are stacking.

Oakfather’s Retribution Set Bonuses (CP 160, Gold Quality)

  • (2 items): Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage.
  • (3 items): Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage.
  • (4 items): Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage.
  • (5 items): Gain 449 Offensive Penetration against enemies for each Major Buff they have active, and 20 Weapon and Spell Damage for each Minor Buff they have active.

The more buffs your enemies are stacking, the harder you hit. It’s a perfect counter for modern PvP builds, which are often loaded with defensive and offensive buffs.

Oakfather’s Retribution isn't craftable, and it's not dropped from basic monsters. It is part of the base game, so you don’t need any DLC to earn it.

How To Get To Cyrodiil

To get started, you’ll need to enter Cyrodiil (or join a Battleground) with a level 10 or higher character. Here's how to do it:

  1. Open the Alliance War menu (press L on PC).
  2. Click Campaigns in the top-right corner.
  3. Select a campaign and press E to queue.
  4. Once the queue pops, hover over the notification and press E again to travel.

To join a Battleground, ensure your character is at least level 10. Press P (default key) to open the Group & Activity Finder, select Battlegrounds, choose your preferred game mode or opt for a random match, and click Join Queue to enter the matchmaking process.

If you don't like the traits on your armor set, you can always change them with Transmute Crystals.

How To Obtain Oakfather’s Retribution Pieces

Once you're inside Cyrodiil, the most straightforward way to get the set is to buy gear boxes using Alliance Points (AP), themain PvP currency.
