The Weeks Ahead trailer, which you can check out below, shows a lot of stuff those who have played the sequel will recognize. However, it's a blink and you'll miss it moment that caught the eye of Reddit user u/Donny_Z28. Posts By Sam WoodsIf the scene in the show is the same as the one it appears to be adapting in the game, the gun in Ellie's hands belongs to Joel, and she's examining it when she visits his house for the first time after he's killed. The sequence in the game is a heartwrenching one as players are tasked with going through the house, interacting with various items that belonged to Joel, reminding Ellie of meaningful moments they shared together.

And Fans Think This Brief Close-Up Of A Gun Is Pulled From One Of The Sequel's Most Heartbreaking Scenes
Along with the gun, you can examine photos, Joel's owl coffee mug, and the broken watch that was gifted to him by his late daughter Sarah. If the show is going to accurately adapt that sequence, it's going to be a hard one to watch. It begins with Ellie tending to Joel's grave and then visiting the vacant house before she and Dina leave Jackson for Seattle.
Even though it seems very likely we will have to experience Joel's brutal death all over again in a whole new medium, it's not confirmed that the key moment from The Last Of Us Part 2 will even be a part of season two. The sequel will be split across at least two seasons, so there's a chance the death is saved for season three. Considering what we've already seen in episode one and the Weeks Ahead trailer , that seems unlikely.
Fans of the games have already picked up on a couple of details from season two's first episode that were put there just for them. The employee of the month dog photo is a reference to one of Part 2's more inventive puzzles, and Ellie opting to distract a clicker with a bottle has got brick lovers up in arms.
