Clearing up the rifts in the Gerudo Desert seems straightforward, but there's more at work than meets the eye. Working together with determined people like Dohna, anything is possible. Here's everything you need to know to help the Gerudo warriors with the rifts in Hyrule!

Where To Find The Gerudo Desert

Upon reaching the Gerudo Desert, you'll want to head west towards Gerudo Town. In this area, you'll find the Gerudo Sanctum buried in the sand. It's inaccessible at first, but you need to get in so you can restore the rift.

Unfortunately, after speaking to the guard to the left of the sanctum, there's no way in at the moment. However, while talking it over with Tri, you notice a woman in peril.

Fight off the dark monsters that attack her! Once they're defeated, the woman introduces herself as Dohna. As you talk, she wants to set up a meeting with the chief of the Gerudo to grant you access to the sanctum, as she's been looking for a way to fix the rifts.

If you've been exploring already, you can fast travel around the desert to make this journey easier.

Dohna asks you to meet her in Gerudo Town, inside the palace. Make your way there to meet with the chief and her advisor. Here, they simply don't believe that you can seal the rifts. Dohna vouches for you and swears to get proof of your powers.

She leaves and the guards outside tell you to meet her at the oasis to the east.

Where To Find The Oasis

The oasis is east of Gerudo Town, flush with vibrant grass and foliage. Several warriors wait for you here with Dohna. Speak to her and she'll reveal her plan. There are three smaller rifts tearing the desert apart, and she wants you to close each of them.

The three rifts are located at the Southern Oasis Ruins, the Ancestor's Cave of Rest, and the Southern Gerudo Desert.

Southern Oasis Ruins

Just south of the oasis, a couple of warriors are worn down from fighting monsters that just keep coming out of the rift. Help them by slaying the creatures that emerge, using your best echoes to defeat them.

Once the monsters are defeated, the warriors decide to take a rest somewhere safer. Meanwhile, Tri looks for an opening in the rift and can't find one.

Ancestor's Cave of Rest

In this area, you'll need to make your way through the chambers on the left to reach the Gerudo warrior on the other side of the rift. Once you reach her, you need to light the braziers beside her using your echoes.

Southern Gerudo Desert

When you arrive southwest of the oasis, you'll find a group of Gerudo warriors worn out in the sands. They're in desperate need of refreshments, so Dohna will send you to get smoothies for them.

After you've given the warriors the smoothie and checked out all three areas, meet Dohna back in the Gerudo Palace to try and convince the chief and Facette to let you into the Sanctum.

Where To Find The Desert Temple Ruins

After you enter the palace and approach the throne room, Dohna will ask for access to the sanctum again. This time, the Gerudo warriors you've helped will vouch for you. However, before a decision can be made, news arrives that the Desert Temple rift has expanded.

Head off after Chief Seera and Facette, taking to the eastern sands to find the ruins. They're just past the Oasis. When you arrive, you'll find all the Gerudo warriors from before gathered here.

Enter the rift and search for Tri's missing friends. They're scattered in five different places, and finding them all will restore the rift, freeing the valiant Gerudo people trapped within.

After you display your powers and restore the rift, Chief Seera will grant you access to the sanctum.

How To Unlock The Gerudo Sanctum

Before you can enter the sanctum, however, you'll need to pull the plug on the quicksand. Head into the Cryptic Cavern to the west of the sanctum. Use boulders to block the air streams from the fans within so you can easily navigate through the different chambers.

You'll want to reach the chamber in the back on the right, where you'll smash a blue eye to make a treasure chest appear. Inside is the key that unlocks an iron door. Beyond that is a ladder that leads down to the quicksand plug.

Bind Tri to the plug and pull to open the way to the Gerudo Sanctum.

How To Restore The Gerudo Sanctum Rift

With the Gerudo Sanctum unlocked, head inside and let Tri create an opening in the rift. There are only two floors in the sanctum, but you'll face powerful enemies inside.

You'll need to chase after Dark Link and defeat him to unlock the Bow of Might. You'll also need to learn the echoes for the different animal statues within the sanctum so you can offer proper tribute.

Offering tribute will open the path to Mogryph's chamber, where you'll need to defeat him to free Tri's trapped friends from within the rift. After Mogryph is defeated, you'll be rewarded with might crystals.

Tri will take you back to Zelda's world, where Dohna will greet you. The rifts are gone and the Gerudo Desert is safe from harm! You can continue on your journey with Tri to clear up more rifts across Hyrule.
