Amiibos can be used fairly early in the game. To scan one in, head to the menu where the 'Save' option is and scroll down until you are at the 'Amiibo' option. Click on this, and then take the Amiibo figure and hold it over the right stick on your Joy-Cons.

Doing so will cause the Amiibo to be scanned, giving you the reward items.

These Amiibo will only reward you with the associated outfit if you've completed the Hyrule Castle Dungeon. Prior to this, you'll get smoothie ingredients.

Any other time you scan an Amiibo after getting one of these outfits (or before facing the Hyrule Castle Dungeon), you'll be rewarded with one of the following ingredients.
