Posts 2The concern of the day is the death of a community leader. As is the case in a lot of these episodes, there is treachery afoot, and it's up to you, dear player, to figure out exactly what happened to cause the poor man's death.
All Name Solutions
As in the previous chapter, there are eight people to identify here.
- Between the dialogue and the doctors' notes, it should be very easy to determine the identity of the dead man.
- There are twins here - see what you can find that refers to twins. This will help you identify them.
- One character is holding a voting sheet and a pencil, and the sheet has a single check marked on it. What does this imply?
- There is a work rota - it'll be crucial to work out what day it is. The rota will also help you pair up forenames with surnames.
- There are two women - one is partnered to the dead man, but this does not mean marriage.
- There are two doctors, a modern one and a quack. What would they prescribe, and where can you find their prescriptions?

This panel has you working out who sat where at the previous day's meal.
- There is one rule that makes things quite simple: the first sentinel must be seated at one end of the table. From there, it's all about seniority.
- There are multiple pieces of dialogue and written evidence to suggest how long certainpeople have been there.
- The two plates opposite one another obviously belong to the twins, but you'll need to figure out which side of the table they sat at. Check the spoons and where they are located on the table. What does this tell you? Can you take this train of thought to the station?

The Kitchen panel is a rather simple one.
- Work out who was sick - two people speak about it, one person simply cannot speak about it and never will.
- Look at the dishes eaten by those who got sick (you worked out what they ate in the previous panel). Now, look at the ingredients contained in their meals.
- Many of the ingredients in these dishes are seeds. Does it matter whether they were crushed or whole? What would that change about the dishes' preparation?

Before tackling the events section of this chapter, you'll need to establish some facts in the Sentinel and Goat panels.
- Most words in the Goat panel are easy to figure out based on the only words that would make sense in context.
- Think about what was contaminated in the previous panel.
- There are flowers you can see near the goat's body. Where else can you see those flowers? Hint: you're looking for a picture of these flowers.
- Consider the contamination: ingesting the poison did not kill all three people who got sick. So the victim must have been poisoned in a different way. What do you know that he did apart from eat?
Solution
The goat died because someone ground moondrift into a paste using the mortar and pestle and then put it on the goat's belly.
Pravi Nagasai died of moondrift poisoning, because someone put moondrift paste in the moisturizer.

Now it's time to figure out what actually happened.
- The first paragraph contains an 'announcement' - this should be easy to fill in based on something you can read. Hint: 'announcements' are 'proclaimed'.
- You'll be able to fill in most of the second paragraph based on the previous panels, but you need an identity. Work out who might want to kill the first sentinel.
- Does the announcement mean bad news to anyone?
- It looks like someone has read the victim's diary. Does this give you a clue?
- Check the work rota to see who would have the opportunity. There are a few who could find the time, but how many of the suspects?
- Examine the goat's area closely. The goat isn't the only dead creature here. Why is this?
- There are multiple references to alcohol in this chapter, but why?
- You know the rest of the panel.
Solution
On Saturday, Pravi Nagasai announced that he would live forever.
Later, while on overnight watch duty, Koi Nagasai took a goat to the pond for a test.
After it was done, Koi Nagasai washed the mortar and pestle in the pond, but not with alcohol.
Therefore, when the mortar and pestle was used to prepare Sunday's dinner, it made people sick.
That night, Pravi Nagasai used the moisturizer, leading to his death.
