Revelation is one of the more 'unique' cases to solve when it comes to The Lumurian Phoenix, the second DLC for The Rise of the Golden Idol. There are no crimes to solve here, no treachery, just a devious puzzle that turns you into something of a cryptographer.

PostsDeciphering language is the name of the game here - it's your task to unravel the pictograms used by the dedicants and work out the meanings of the gospel, the commandments on the monument, and what a certain person will tell his dedicants the waterfall proclaimed.
How To Decipher The Language
There are four rules that you'll need to learn before the language starts making sense to you.
- Nouns. These are simple: the first and last symbols in a sentence depict a noun, whether that be a common noun or a proper noun.
- Verbs. Again, these are simple - these symbols come between the nouns and depict a certain 'type' of verb. Above each verb, there can be a dot. A dot turns a verb into its opposite. So, for example, the 'burn' symbol with a dot would become 'extinguish'.
- Positivity or negativity. Like the symbols that denote the version of the verb used, there can also be a line above the verb symbol. This turns the verb into a negative, meaning something not happening.
- Tense and strength. Every sentence has a line underneath it with an arrow. These denote tense: what does an arrow facing backwards mean? What does a straight line mean as opposed to a wavy one? Take note that there are only three options for tenses (the grey words), modified by the previous bullet point's function.
Once you understand those basic rules, you can start figuring out the noun and verb symbols to start piecing together these puzzles.
- The waterfall scene has all you need to figure out the Symbols page. There looks to be a family tree on the door - who could this refer to? And what does the symbol on the broken building represent?
- The children's book inside the cave will help you figure out lots of rules for the chapter, not least of all the Waterfall, Kill, and Reward symbols.
- The man reading near the monument provides massive clues as to the monument's contents.
- The gospel is trickier, but still solvable. Fire plays a big role in this story. What can you deduce from the symbols used here?
- The waterfall panel is the hardest to solve, and is a final test of your knowledge. The only new symbols here look rather like family trees - the words you have available to you here should help you narrow these down.
