Toy Story 2 Is 2022's Most Played PlayStation Plus PS1 Classic
Sony released the PlayStation Wrap-Up yesterday, its annual stat bomb allowing players to view their personal gaming statistics and highlights from the year.
PS4 and PS5 users will be able to access and share their 2022 Wrap-Up until January 13, letting others see the number of trophies you've earned, the number of games played, and total hours played, among other stats and facts. But among the numbers include interesting bits collected from the global PlayStation base. One of these is which PS1 title on the PS Plus Premium tier was the most played in 2022, and this turns out to be movie tie-in classic Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue (via Pushsquare).

Toy Story 2 appears to have inspired some fond memories. The platformer appeared on the original PlayStation in November 1999 as well as on the N64, PC, and Mac, with a Dreamcast version a year later. While the movie tie-in didn't set critics on fire it left an impression on regular players who warmed to its vivid graphics, gentle gameplay, and killer soundtrack. Seriously, listen to the OST it's a banger.
Behind the wholesomeness of Toy Story 2 as the second most popular PS1 classic on PS Plus Premium this year was Bandai Namco's Tekken 2. Meanwhile, the overall most played game in the Classic part of Premium is Mafia: Definitive Edition which was just in front of God of War 3 Remastered.
In the PS Plus Extra tier of Sony's subscription offerings, and there is an immediate standout. The beloved indie that for a time it seemed everyone couldn't stop talking about - Stray - is the most played game in that tier's whole catalogue, which meows in front of the likes of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Ghost of Tsushima, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and Red Dead Redemption 2.
Among the most played games for the lowest priced tier - PS Plus Essential - are UFC 4 and Dirt 5, with FIFA 22 taking the crown.
