Like many games, you'll face your share of bosses in Unknown 9: Awakening, the first of which is the fearsome Mila Savić, and she's no pushover despite being the introduction into boss battles. Wielding a gun powered by Umbric energy and unique Ascendant tech, there's a reason she's Vincent's right hand.

Unknown 9 hasn’t been on my radar, but going hands-on for a few hours has completely changed that.

She's far tougher and stronger than every other Ascendant you've faced up to this point, even the Bruisers, and you'll need to use every skill at your disposal to beat her and get to Vincent's Morning Star – and without ending up with too many Umbric energy bullets in you.

Mila Savić is a tough boss with two phases, and her moveset incorporates some of the tactics you've already been dealing with from Sharpshooter enemies, but with a few deadly twists.

For most of the fight, she'll attack you fromlong-range with anautomatic weapon that can do serious damage, so you'll want to either dodge to the opposite side while approaching when she does or take cover around the map.

If you don't, you run the risk of losing most of your Health or dying from the volley of shotsif all of them hit you.

Use plain combat and Shroud to eliminate the enemies in the prior fight so you can save all the environmental explosives for Mila's boss fight for some extra damage against her.

The Push skill will be your best weapon against Mila, especially in her second phase. Alternate between dodging towards Mila and pulling her towards you, then hitting her with a few attacks until she raises her fists to block.

She'll block and attempt a counterattack like other enemies after you land a few hits, so you can try to Parry her attack, dodge to either side, or use Push or Pull to interrupt her and get some more hits in to build up her Faze meter.

When her Faze meter maxes out, Mila's going to get stunned, and you'll get a chance to do a Burst Attack on her for massive damage. Do it, then she'll lose all the built-up Faze, and it'll be time to repeat the process until you reach her second phase.

While it's rare for Mila to use it, she can also do a charging attack similar to the Bruiser-class Ascendants in both phases.

How To Deal With Mila's Second Phase

When Mila Savić gets down to half health, there will be a short cutscene before she enters her second phase and incorporatesa new attack into her arsenal.

In addition to blocking and countering like before, Mila now starts laying down a row of five explosive mines whenever she dodges, and they can easily decimate your Health if several explode in a chain reaction.

While it isn't as effective as Pull, you can still use Push to interrupt Mila's attacks and movement to give yourself a chance to close the distance.

This is when you'll want to use Pull the most, as well as Push if you have any environmental explosives left in the area. Use Pull to snatch Mila away from her wall of mines while dodging her shots and over to you so you can get some more hits in.

Keep up with the same tactics as before until you get Mila's Faze up and then hit her with another Burst Attack.

If there's only one line of mines between you and Mila, you can use one or two dodges to go through them safely without triggering an explosion.

Once you get her down to about a fourth of her health left, Mila will automatically hit you with an instant-kill attack, ending the fight prematurely and giving you a cutscene with her to end it.
