However, unlocking these characters is not an easy task, and from Leon Belmont to Soma Cruz, each generation of vampire hunter has its requirements before you can freely play as any of them. Here's all you need to know about it!

How To Unlock Every Character In Ode To Castlevania

To unlock every Castlevania character, you must fulfill different missions as you play with the characters you keep unlocking, which will take you several runs. However, you should also keep in mind that, regardless of the unlocking requirements, characters will also cost gold, and their price varies from character to character.

Leon Belmont

Find and open the first coffin in Ode to Castlevania. This coffin is located beside the bridge at the entrance of Dracula's Castle, to the right of your spawn point.

Sonia Belmont

Find seven Heart Refresh after opening the Stallion Gate. These can be found lying around through the stage or dropped by destructible chandeliers.

Trevor Belmont

Defeat the Giant Medusa Head with Leon Belmont.

Christopher Belmont

Evolve the Alucart Sworb, Alucard's base weapon. To evolve this weapon, you must have it at max level, then kill any boss and open the chest it drops.

Simon Belmont

Evolve the Jet Black Whip, Christopher's base weapon. To evolve this weapon, you must have the Jet Black Whip at max level and a Stone Mask in your inventory, then kill any boss and open the chest it drops.

Juste Belmont

Evolve the Wind Whip, Simon's base weapon. To evolve this weapon, you must have the Wind Whip at max level and a Crown in your inventory, then kill any boss and open the chest it drops.

Richter Belmont

Evolve the Guardian's Targe. Alternatively, the cheat code 'doesnthaveuno' unlocks Richter too.

Julius Belmont

Find and open the second coffin in Ode to Castlevania. This coffin is located in a secret passage in the lower left side of the Library, inside the castle, and you can find the entrance in the left wall of the final part at the south of the library, before entering the next area.

Grant Danasty

Evolve the Water Dragon Whip, Trevor Belmont's base weapon. To evolve this weapon, you must have the Water Dragon Whip at max level and a Magnet in your inventory, then kill any boss and open the chest it drops.

John Morris

Evolve the Raging Fire, Ice Fang, Gale Force, and Rock Riot spellbooks across any amount of runs. This can be done by usingthe Belnades' Spellbook, available to Juste Belmont as a weapon during his first levels, and choosing to get one of these spellbooks with each rank.

Jonathan Morris

Evolve the Hand Grenade, Soma Cruz's base weapon. To evolve this weapon, you must have the Hand Grenade at max level and a Candelabrador in your inventory, then kill any boss and open the chest it drops.

Soma Cruz

Defeat Gergoth with Julius Belmont.

Charlotte Aulin

Find seven Mirrors Of Truth (unlocked by beating the Paranoia), after opening the Capra gate. These can be found lying around through the stage or dropped by destructible chandeliers.

Sypha Belnades

Defeat the Slogra and Gaibon bosses with Grant Danasty. They can be triggered using the same summoning circle on the castle's west side.

Yoko Belnades

Defeat Abbadon with Soma Cruz.

Alucard

Defeat the Doppelganger with Trevor Belmont.

Eric Lecarde

Evolve the Javelin. To evolve this weapon, you must have the Javelin at max level and a Spellbinder in your inventory, then kill any boss and open the chest it drops.

Hector

Find seven Karma Coins (unlocked by beating the Puppet Master), after opening the Scorpion Gate. These can be found lying around through the stage or dropped by destructible chandeliers.

Maria Renard

Complete any Stage with Shanoa and Juste Belmont.

Shanoa

Evolve the Iron Ball, John Morris' base weapon, and the Alucard Spear, Eric Lecarde's base weapon.
