The warm and rich colors of autumn give video games a sense of richness and cozy vibes. Some games are subtle with their autumn settings, whereas others go full-blown red foliage. You will find real-time games change their design depending on the time of year, which is always a nice update to RPGs, and the addition of seasonal items keeps games interesting.

Cozy games are already great, but playing them for free? It doesn't get much better than this.
Posts By Jack PierikDepending on the intensity of the video game, there might not be the time to check out the surroundings that have been built around the protagonists. You may also play through games too quickly to notice, so it's always a treat to pause for a moment and take in a natural beauty that has been recreated.

13 Elden Ring
Elden Ring
Released February 25, 2022 Platform(s) PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X Powered by Expand CollapseFromSoftware has always made incredible worlds that are as engrossing to explore as they are difficult to survive in. Elden Ring was a big new step for them, a world that lets you explore it at its own pace while trying to keep the signature combat and curated level design of the past.
Elden Ring instantly has you roaming about Limgrave, a region that already feels wet and cozy, like an early autumn morning. Leyndell is something special, though: the very ground is littered with golden leaves, the trees are giving you shade from the Erdtree's soft glow, and the misty forests of deeper orange nestled between rows of Birch. They are oddly calming in such a destructive world.
12 Night In The Woods
Night In The Woods
Released February 21, 2017 Platform(s) Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S Powered by Expand CollapseSet in Possum Springs, a fictional town in the American Rust Belt region, Night In The Woods is an odd experience. Returning home as a dropout from college, the game takes place over the final days of October, with some reminiscing of the past and just a touch of criminal activities.
The very nature of its setting firmly makes it an autumn game. Still, something about the quiet nature of the town, the rustling leaves, and the slightly heavier clothes people wear (but not too heavy) show a real understanding of the seasonal impact. Plus, there's a big Halloween festival, and what's more autumnal than that?
11 God Of War 2018
God of War
Released April 20, 2018 Platform(s) PC, PlayStation 4 Powered by Expand CollapseThe original God Of War games are maybe not what you'd call cozy fall games. Massacring an entire pantheon of gods doesn't tend to be. The 2018 entry took the series to new places: the land of Norse myth and a world in its final seasons.

Once you've finished tearing up the Nine Realms in God Of War Ragnarok, here's your next adventure.
Posts By Dennis MoiseyevAs you probably already know, Ragnarok is coming, as it always does. Here, you're exploring a world in its final fall before its... fall, if you'll excuse the pun. Some areas are already caked in layers of snow, but some, like the Witch's Hut, glow with crimson leaves and frolicking wildlife. It's a gorgeous, colorful world and one that's all about family, just maybe a bit more violent than your typical family outing.

There are moments where scenes at the schoolyard can feel warm and inviting, with reds and sunsets giving you a sense of peace.
On the other hand, as Life Is Strange reaches its much more depressing subject matter, the depression that comes along with autumn can be felt if you're invested. It's a game where every part of its design draws you in to be part of the experience.

8 Bully
Bully
Released October 17, 2006 Platform(s) PC, PS2, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Wii, Mobile Powered by Expand CollapseBully is certainly one of those games where you're not playing it to look at the autumnal scenery. If you look around, you will instantly get the feeling of autumn, with the trees losing most of their leaves and a cold color scheme.
The grainy and colder appearance of the game in terms of nature and the weather add to the uncomfortableness of starting a new school. It also adds to the game's darker undertones and the aggressive gameplay in general.
