Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Fans Are Extremely Fed Up With Zoanthropes
Summary
- Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 fans have been voicing their frustrations after last week's controversial update, and are now complaining about the frequency of Zoanthropes.
- Many claim the creatures are currently too overpowered and frustrating to fight, and their frequency is making classes like the Bulwark almost useless.
- There are some even claiming that they're going to take a break from the game while Saber fixes the issues, calling the game a "frustrating waste of time".
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is having a bit of a Helldivers 2 moment right now. After having dropped a very unpopular update that nerfed the likes of fencing weapons, armor, ammo, and weapons such as the Melta Charge - while ignoring fan complaints such as "underpowered" Bolt weaponry - fans have begun bombarding the game's Steam page with negative reviews.
It's a fanbase that has very little patience for developer Saber Interactive at the moment, which can currently be seen on the Space Marine subreddit. While the anger over the recent nerfs is ongoing, Space Marine 2 players have now set their sights on a new enemy, as you'll be able to find several posts complaining about the abundance of Zoanthropes and how difficult they are to put down at the moment.

One such post is from Reddit user Aestuosus, who shared a video with the rest of the community of them struggling against a Neurothrope, calling their survivability and the damage they can do "unbelievable". In the video, Aestuosus finds themselves repeatedly pummeled by the shockwaves of a Neurothrope, despite seemingly dodging through its attack pretty much perfectly (besides the first shockwave anyway).
A lot of replies to the video consist of other Space Marine 2 players complaining about the frequency of Zoanthropes at the moment, with one player claiming they had to fight "eight Zoanthropes on a Substantial mission". There are also quite a few people complaining that the frequency of Zoanthropes is making Bulwark players - a class that focuses primarily on melee - pretty much useless, as Zonathropes float in the air out of reach.
Aestuosus isn't the only person struggling with these creatures either, as another post by a user called VitinNunes complaining about Zoanthropes has garnered just as much support. In fact, the replies to this post even has a player that claims they're "done" with the game as a result of the Zoanthrope spam, explaining that they "don't wanna be annoyed in my free time".
You also have some people claiming that the recent changes to the Ruthless difficulty setting are a problem too, with one player calling the game "a frustrating waste of time". It's clear that Space Marine 2 fans aren't happy about the state of the game at the moment, with the feeling like these nerfs were both pointless and extremely detrimental to the state of the game itself. Hopefully, Saber pulls an Arrowhead and starts walking some stuff back.
