Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition - Where To Find Every Weapon Schematic
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is a daunting game. The world of Mira is gigantic and there is always something going on, be it a new host of missions for you to take on, or a new gameplay system for you to wrap your head around. One system you might ignore for much of the game is crafting.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is a big game, and that means easily missed content. Here's everything you can miss and how to avoid it.
Posts By Hilton WebsterCrafting comes in multiple forms in the game, from making new Skell and weapons for them, to Augments for your gear. These are available for most of the game, though crafting weapons for yourself is a bit more elusive. These require custom schematics, which are quite a bit harder to find than most other crafting materials.
How Does Weapon Crafting Work?
Weapon Crafting is a process not too dramatically different from crafting any other item in the game. Unlike Augments, which typically have multiple levels from which you can choose to craft, weapons only come in a single form that you can create. This is true both for Skell weapons, armour, and on-foot weapons.
You can see the process for yourself with the default Archetype weapons you can craft. As long as you have the required materials, you can construct these weapons for a cost of Miranium. Credits are not used at all in the weapon crafting process, so make sure you have some deep reserves of Miranium ready to go.
Unlike with Augments, which can be deconstructed to get back all the materials you used to make them, weapons are permanent. So make sure you're certain before making it.
Where Are Weapon Blueprints Found?
For Augments, every one of them can be crafted from the very beginning, even if the actual materials are exceedingly rare. This is not the case for everything else, however. For armors, all of them are unlocked for crafting after completing the base game, as are all of the Skell Frames and the level 30 versions of every Skell Superweapon.
When it comes to higher level Skell Superweapons, they are found in set locations, either in a treasure point somewhere in the world, or by completing certain Normal and Affinity Missions. This is not the case for on-foot weapons though.
For weapons you equip to your characters, you must find them by defeating certain enemies, which can only be found in certain locations. However, these enemies are not guaranteed to drop these items. They are only regular enemies, not Tyrants, and it can take quite a few kills before they drop the actual schematic you're looking for. Plus they are typically around level 50 minimum, so you'll be near the end of the game before you can start taking them on.
The Treasure Sensor Augment is a great help during this process, so equip some to your party to speed up the process.
Where To Find Every Weapon Schematic
In total, there are a total of 36 weapon schematics you can find and craft. The vast majority of them are from enemies in Cauldros, though there are a few instances of enemies that drop these schematics in most other regions, too. There are multiple schematics for every type of weapon, ranged and melee, so you'll no doubt find one that fits your playstyle.
Here is every single weapon blueprint you can find, and which enemy drops it:
Excluding the Delta Bliss Multigun, every schematic is dropped randomly. So it may take some farming to find them all.

The file names refer to the manufacturer of the weapon. For example, CC stands and Candid and Credible, and SS is for Six Stars.
Once you do unlock these weapons, you might look at them in the crafting menu and wonder, really, whether it was worth all the effort. And for the most part, it really is not. They don't come with Battle Traits, though do have three free Augment slots by default. However, Augment Slots on weapons cannot be expanded past three even with L's Shop, so they end up being inferior.
They are helpful if you're really struggling to get the right drop for your build, though once you've gathered up all the materials you need to craft these, you'll likely have already gotten a better weapon drop from enemies.
