Yakuza's TV adaptation hit Amazon this week and while many of the reviews aren't exactly glowing, fans of the series have been celebrating in a variety of ways. One fan's celebrations started quite a while ago as they embarked on a journey to 100 percent every single game in the series, including most of its spin-offs. One year later, that journey has come to an end, and it just so happened to perfectly align with the TV show's premiere.

Warlord Ethan set out on their epic Yakuza quest a year ago and while I'm not entirely sure which game they kicked things off with, they've recommended others begin with Yakuza 0 which is, of course, the correct starting point. Wherever they started, their journey has taken them through the Kiwamis, past the series name change to Like A Dragon, and even includes the spinoffs. Not just The Man Who Erased His Name, but Like A Dragon Ishin too, and even Judgment and Lost Judgment.

And I only referred to Majima four times throughout. My colleagues would be proud.

Their Yakuza conquest ended with Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, sharing with their followers that they were firing up the game to unlock the final few achievements a few hours before they returned to Twitter to share the good news. The receipts provided show just how much time and effort it has taken to finish 13 Yakuza games in a single year. 735 trophies unlocked, more than 13,000 points added to their Gamerscore, and a staggering 1,100 hours spent playing what they confirm is now their favorite video game series ever.

Not Just Finished, But 100 Percented

Warlord Ethan's feat is so impressive that even Yakuza and Like A Dragon's creators acknowledged it. RGG Studio replied to Ethan's tweet with a video that includes various members of Infinite Wealth's track team applauding their accomplishment and saying congratulations. It's an accomplishment worthy of RGG's approval that's for sure. Now Ethan will have to wait until Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii to continue their Like A Dragon journey. They could try and find a way to play Yakuza Dead Souls between now and then, but I really wouldn't recommend it.

There's also the aforementioned TV show, of course, the first three episodes of which arrived on Amazon just as Warlord Ethan was finishing up their mammoth 1,100-hour playthrough. Unfortunately, not many seem to be all that enamored with what Amazon has done with Kiryu and the rest of the Yakuza cast. On the bright side, there are likely quite a few easter eggs waiting to be found. Fans only just noticed that the adaptation's Majima adopts his thug stance from the games when he's about to fight.
