Running this visually intense game isn't as tricky as many believed it would be, with the Black Myth Wukong system requirements demanding very little to meet the minimum requirements. However, the prettiest visuals are reserved for those with the most powerful gaming PCs.
You'll need to buy the best graphics card you can afford from our buying guide if you plan to run Black Myth: Wukong on its cinematic graphical setting with ray tracing enabled. Our early testing using the benchmark tool with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 showed that the game is seriously demanding at these settings.
Here are the Black Myth: Wukong system requirements:
Minimum Recommended OS Windows 10 or later Windows 10 or later GPU Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060AMD Radeon RX 580 Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060
AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
Intel Arc A750 CPU Intel Core i5 8400
AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Intel Core i7 9700
AMD Ryzen 5 5500 RAM 16GB 16GB Storage 130GB 130GB SSD required
The Black Myth: Wukong minimum requirements surprisingly mimic those of every other new triple-A game release we've seen recently. The now-defunct Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 is the only barrier to entry, alongside some dated CPUs with the Ryzen 5 1600 and Intel Core i5 8400. You'll need 16GB of RAM, however, which could cause problems for older gaming PCs and laptops, though anyone with less than 16GB should seriously consider an upgrade if they want to play the best and latest games.
As for the Black Myth: Wukong recommended specs, there are no nasty pitfalls involved, calling for an Nvidia RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT GPU paired with an Intel Core i7 9700 or AMD Ryzen 5 5500 CPU. You'll also need 16GB of RAM, but virtually anyone with a mid-range gaming rig should already meet this requirement.
During our time using the Black Myth: Wukong benchmark, we found both the RTX 4070 and RTX 4070 Super to be adequate when using the "Cinematic" settings with ray tracing maxed out. The RTX 4070 managed 58fps at 2,560 x 1,440 and looked fantastic. Nvidia's RTX 4070 Super only achieved 25fps at 4K, but that was without DLSS or frame generation enabled.
The Black Myth: Wukong download size comes in at an astonishing 130GB, with an SSD only deemed a requirement at the recommended settings tier. However, we'd suggest using one of the best SSDs for gaming from our buying guides at all times for faster load times.
