Destiny 2 new expansion release date
The latest Destiny 2 expansion release date was December 2, 2025. 'Renegades' is Star Wars-themed adventure, focusing on the Drifter and an underground criminal cabal. The final Destiny 2 update, Monument of Triumph, will launch on June 9, 2026.
The major content update, initially named 'Shadow & Order,' was originally set to launch on March 3, 2026, but was delayed by Bungie. "This update is being changed and expanded to include sizable quality-of-life updates and as a result, will also be renamed," Bungie confirmed in mid-February.
You can check out everything Monument of Triumph is set to entail here.
Destiny 2 Renegades story
As stated by Bungie, in Destiny 2 Renegades, "Guardians infiltrate a criminal underworld to save a friend whose past has caught up with him, and disrupt the rise of powerful new enemies." Spoiler, it's the Drifter that's in a spot of bother, and he's gotten himself encased in carbonite; well, D2's carbonite equivalent.
Considering D2's struggles to retain players post-The Final Shape (and indeed before the excellent Light and Darkness Saga), having a big IP like Star Wars on-side is a major boon. Bungie says Renegades "redefines what an expansion can be," and it looks like the studio has generally stuck the landing.
