Stardew Valley Feast of the Winterstar

The Feast of the Winter Star is a seasonal festival held on Winter 25. To participate, the player must enter Pelican Town between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM. After the event concludes, the player is automatically returned to The Farm at 10:00 PM.

The highlight of the festival is a secret gift exchange. One villager is randomly chosen to give the player a gift, while the player is also assigned a random villager to receive a gift from them. Mayor Lewis sends a letter on Winter 18 revealing who the player should give a gift to. The identity of the villager giving a gift to the player is only revealed during the festival itself.

The festival concludes once the player exits Pelican Town.

Gift Giving

The gift the player selects for their villager will be worth 5x the normal amount of friendship points. After the player gives their gift, their Secret Gift-Giver will reveal themself and give them their present.

Possible Received Gifts

This is a list of gifts the player can receive from their secret gift-giver. The only children are Jas, Vincent, and Leo (if he has moved into Stardew Valley); everyone else is an adult. The Dwarf, Krobus, Marlon, Sandy, and the Wizard are never secret gift givers.

On Winter 18, Mayor Lewis will send a letter informing the player of their secret gift recipient for the Feast of the Winter Star. This is the perfect time to plan ahead by selecting a gift that will maximize friendship points. Giving a loved gift is highly recommended, as it grants 400 friendship points, which is equivalent to just over 1.5 hearts—five times the normal amount.

Tip #2

Since Pierre sells exclusive winter-themed decorations during the festival, it’s a good idea to save up gold in advance to avoid missing out on limited-time items like the Tree of the Winter Star, Festive Dining Table, and Decorative Axe. Additionally, some of the most valuable gifts a player can receive include the Tea Set, which is exclusive to the festival, an Iridium Bar from Clint, 25 Beach Warp Totems from Willy, or an Ancient Doll from the children if it hasn’t yet been donated to the museum.

Not all villagers participate in the secret gift exchange. The Dwarf, Krobus, Marlon, Sandy, and the Wizard are never assigned as gift-givers or recipients. Kent is also excluded until he arrives in Year 2, and Leo cannot participate until he moves from Ginger Island to Pelican Town.

If the player is unhappy with their received gift, they can restart the game to get a different one, but the NPC assigned to them will remain the same. Before heading to the festival, it’s important to feed farm animals early in the day, as the festival ends at 10 PM, making it difficult to complete farm chores afterward.
