There are very few studios with an output as varied as Strange Scaffold's. They've got games about trading organs and babies, NSFW clicking, cooking delicious meals for kaiju, and, soon enough, sending pedestrians into a fantasy world to help an elf girl level up by running them over with your car. As it turns out, however, as revealed during today's PC Gaming show, Strange Scaffold have another, slightly familiar card up their sleeve: a sequel to El Paso, Elsewhere.

If El Palso, Elsewhere passed you by amongst the pantheon of other games Strange Scaffold have on offer, it's a supernatural neo-noir third-person shooter by way of Max Payne bullet time about needing to kill your vampire ex-girlfriend to save the world. Game's weird, and game's good. El Paso, Elsewhere 2 positions you once again as the moody, contemplative James Savage, this time on a journey across the US as opposed to through a motel.

"Betrayed by a close friend, James is dragged into the Void itself to repay a terrible debt to an eldritch horror," a press release explains of this game's story. Spoilers for the end of the first game here for the rest of the quote: "He once killed the monster he loved to save the world. Now, he must save his betrayer to save himself."

This entry also equips you with some snazzy vampire abilities to do things like diving off of thin air, backflipping off of enemies (sick), or slurping up some of your enemies' blood when you stake them (gross (also sick)). You'll be galavanting across nightclubs, "multi-dimensional libraries, eerie suburbia," and more, with a whole bunch of guns to aid you on your way. You'll even fight Frankenstein at some point! No I don't know if they mean the doctor or the monster, leave me alone.

Studio head Xalavier Nelson Jr. also noted in the press release that Strange Scaffold almost closed while making the first one, saying, "It's a game I never thought we'd have a chance to build a sequel for." Not only is a sequel now in the works, but a film adaptation was announced a couple of years ago. Great time to be a fan of supernatural neo-noir stories it seems! El Paso, Elsewhere 2 is due out sometime in 2027.
