Publisher Atlus has confirmed that Shin Megami Tensei 5, which was recently announced for release on Nintendo Switch in Japan, will be making its way to the west - and there's a freshly localised trailer to celebrate the news.

Shin Megami Tensei 5 is the latest mainline entry in Atlus' dark, demon-infused J-RPG series, and at the time of its Japanese reveal last month, the publisher had no word to share on a localised western release. Now though, series fans can rest a little easier.

That really is almost everything that Atlus has revealed about the game so far, however. Even the Shin Megami Tensei 5 teaser trailer doesn't offer much that series fans couldn't already surmise: it's set in present day (and, before the trailer's out, slightly apocalyptic) Toyko, and it features its fair share of demons. The newly translated text, however, does offer this:

"All the fountains of the great deep broke up and the windows of heaven were opened. In this lightless age of corruption, we long for the dawn of a new messiah". Ominous, eh?

Hopefully more substantial news on Shin Megami Tensei 5 will begin to circulate soon.
