The Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games are legend and created an entire genre, which is why someone wants to make a documentary about them.
It's not just any someone. Ralph D'Amato, producer of the documentary - titled Pretending I'm a Superman - was also producer of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater games. He worked for Tony Hawk for four years afterwards too - meaning he has a direct line to Hawk and other skaters, such as the amazing Rodney Mullen, as well as the original developers who made the game.
Indeed, D'Amato has already self-funded and shot a trailer for Pretending I'm a Superman using some of the interview footage he has already bagged. Take a look.
To fund the rest, D'Amato needs your help. Pretending I'm a Superman is trying to raise $75,000 on Indiegogo.
The Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series went onto inspire some other brilliant skating games such as Skate 3, which enjoys a cult following even today, and side-scroller OlliOlli.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 is a glitchy mess Recent Tony Hawk's games have, however, been a bit pants.Watch on YouTubeIf you want to know more about the story of Tony Hawk, and Rodney Mullen, there's an absolutely wonderful documentary from 2012 called Bones Brigade.
