Pokémon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction was a success in Japan, despite being a shocking 17th in the series!

To celebrate this, hoards of life-size Pikachus were released upon Akarenga Park in Yokohama. These Pikachu (Pikachi?) challenged passers-by, doing their best to battle with sheer cuteness. No matter how many times people tried to run they were faced with: ‘Can’t escape!’

These 50 Pikachu hooligans were part of a promotional event called ‘Pikachu Outbreak’ which began with an advertisement of hundreds of Pokémon flooding escalators, elevators and even information booths until they emerged to surprise the public in Akarenga Park.

I’m sure many of these adorable Pokémon were defeated by the public using ‘cuddle of death’ (Yes, that’s the only move I could come up with, don’t judge me…)

These cute little guys can come and invade my home town whenever they feel like it!
