Rings and weapons are essential when heading into dangerous areas in Stardew Valley, but with update 1.6, you can now collect unique Trinkets to bring along as well. Here is how to get trinkets and what they do for you.

Stardew Valley Trinkets Guide – How to Get Them

Trinkets work similarly to Rings with their enchantments and special abilities. However, they can do a lot more for you, such as spawning a magical fairy that heals you or shooting out arrows at nearby enemies. Before you can collect them, you’ll need to unlock a slot for them in your Inventory.

How to Unlock Trinkets

Trinkets can only be unlocked by reaching Mastery and redeeming the Combat Mastery reward. To reach Mastery, you need to be level 10 in all your skills: fishing, farming, mining, foraging, and combat. Once you’re max level, you can venture into the secret Mastery room.

The Mastery Room is located south of the farm, past Marnie’s Ranch and Robin’s House. The door is engraved into the cliffside, hidden behind some trees. You will only be able to enter when you’ve maxed out all your skills. This can take some time to grind out. However, a great way to get there faster is to buy some books from the new Bookseller. The Book of Stars is one to look out for since it will boost XP for all skills simultaneously.

You can redeem your Mastery Points for special rewards inside the Mastery Rooms. However, to earn a Mastery Point, you must continue progressing your skills and filling the green Mastery meter next to the star. You can keep progressing the meter by performing all the same skill activities or reading more skill books.

The reward you’ll want to claim with your Mastery Point is Combat Mastery since this is how you’ll unlock the slot for Trinkets and be able to start using them. The Combat Mastery is the sword engraving on the far left side. When you have a Mastery Point to redeem, it will glow, signaling that you can approach and claim your reward.

Where to Find Trinkets

Once you have the slot unlocked, you can start looking for some Trinkets to use. There are a few different ways you can find them: Monster drops, Skull Cavern Treasure Rooms, or purchased from special vendors. You won’t be able to find a specific Trinket since they are randomized, but if you keep farming these methods, you can eventually get the one that you want.

How to Equip Trinkets

Once you find some Trinkets to use, you can gain their effects and abilities by equipping them.

Open your Inventory menu and drag your Trinket to the new star slot next to your hat slot. This will equip the Trinket and allow you to use it. Most of the abilities are passive, so you’ll see the effects immediately or as triggered, such as your adorable fairy companion flying beside you.

Stardew Valley All Trinkets List

There are plenty of Trinkets to find, each one providing a different magical ability. Some of them will boost your stats and others as actual companions. Here’s all of the ones currently in the game and what they do for you:

These are all the Trinkets currently in Stardew Valley, but more could be added with further updates, so stay tuned. They definitely make a difference in grinding those mine levels and making you more powerful, so keep a look out for them!
