Sometimes, we may need a boost in The Sims 4 that only cheats can offer. While money cheats are very well-known and relied on, you can use plenty of other cheats to help boost skills, career advancement, and even age-exclusive growth for toddlers, children, and teens. Here’s how to use them.

How to Use Cheats in The Sims 4

There is one thing you must do before using any cheat in The Sims 4, and that is to enable cheats in the first place. This is done by:

  1. Pressing the Ctrl, Shift, and C keys simultaneously
  2. Typing testingcheats true in the prompt
  3. Hitting enter

Once you do this, you can enter as many cheats as you like. However, you must enter it each time you relaunch the game and want to use cheats. Here are some great cheats to try:

The Sims 4 Skill Cheats

Depending on what age your sim is, they can use various skills in the world that will determine the outcome of their activities. For example, higher cooking skills will reap better quality meals.

Younger sims have different types of skills than adult sims. Children instead focus more on their overall motor, social, and mental skills, which carry over to other skills as they grow up. Teens are the exception since they are the age at which they can start using adult skills.

No matter what age sim you have, you can use cheats to improve any of their skills if you don’t want to take the time to slowly grind them out.

TS4 Adult Skill Cheats

Each cheat listed below includes an X at the end. In place of the X, type a number between one and 10. For example, stats.set_skill_level Major_HomestyleCooking 10.

Most skills have a cap of Level 10, but there are some exceptions. Exceptions are listed with their unique caps in parenthesis, for example, “(Max 5).”

TS4 Toddler Skill Cheats

As toddlers can only improve skills by so much, the maximum skill value for toddler skills is five. The only exception is Potty, which has a maximum of three.

Infants are now interactable, but they don’t have the same type of skills that older sims do. You can use some infant CC to make them more appealing in your game.

The Sims 4 Career / Job Cheats

Along with increasing your sims skills, you can also automatically promote them in their various careers. This saves a lot of time working through all levels and jumps straight to the position you’re looking for. Plus, you can change up the Sims work outfit if you dislike how it looks.

This even works for the teens’ part-time jobs, like baristas or babysitters, allowing them to earn more money faster.

TS4 Career Cheats

If you want to jumpstart a career for your sim, you can automatically give them the career or remove a career as you please. You can also change up their work outfit in CAS by using these cheats:

  • careers.add_career X – Replace the X with the career of your choosing to immediately start your Sim in that career.
  • careers.remove_career X – Replace the X with the Sim’s career to force the Sim to quit.
  • Careers.retire X – Replace the X with the Sim’s career to have them retire and collect a pension.
  • Sims.modify_career_outfit_in_cas [Sim ID] – Change a career’s outfit in CAS. To get a Sim’s Sim ID, first input Sims.get_sim_id_by_name [Sim name]
