Mythic Weapons vs. Legendary: Fortnite Star Wars Edition
In Fortnite Star Wars Galactic Battle, the Mythic IQ11 DMR, available by trading General Grievous a Jedi lightsaber near the former Masked Meadows black market, boasts marginal improvements over its legendary counterpart—three extra damage and six additional headshot points. While useful, these stats rarely tip the scales dramatically. For instance, a legendary DMR can already down a full-health opponent with two headshots. Therefore, the Mythic version serves mainly as a convenient upgrade rather than a priority target. Only players routinely passing through Masked Meadows should consistently seek out this mythic variant.
Mythic F11 Blaster: Incremental but Effective
Captain Phasma at the First Order base holds the Mythic F11 blaster. This weapon provides just one additional damage point compared to legendary, paired with a slightly higher fire rate (6.65 vs. 6.45 shots per second). These minor boosts translate to roughly 13 more damage per second (DPS). Although DPS isn’t everything, the Mythic F11 slightly outperforms other blasters, making it appealing but not essential. Players preferring the F11 blaster should target Captain Phasma, but there’s little need to deviate extensively from initial landing plans to acquire this upgrade.
Mythic A280 AR: Limited Appeal
Available through hacking the chest aboard the moving train, the Mythic A280 AR increases damage slightly—from 33 to 35 points—compared to legendary. This minor improvement doesn’t significantly alter the weapon’s effectiveness. Those who already favor the A280 will appreciate the guaranteed top-tier version from the train chest, particularly amid scarce loot alternatives. However, this mythic AR isn’t transformative enough to prioritize unless already convenient.
Mythic DL44 Pistol: Least Recommended
The Mythic DL44 pistol, obtained by defeating Shogun X on the island during the fourth zone, increases damage minimally—from 41 to 43 points per shot. Although powerful, its slow fire rate and range limitations undermine its practicality compared to other ranged options like the DMR or the DT15 LMG. While enjoyable for casual use, this pistol doesn’t warrant significant effort or risk given its relative inefficiency and the challenge posed by Shogun X’s location.
Jedi and Sith Lightsabers: Tactical Mobility and Control
Lightsabers can be acquired by undergoing training from Jedi or Sith NPCs. These lightsabers include distinctive abilities:
Force Push (Rey): Useful to dislodge opponents from advantageous positions, though it doesn’t cause fall damage.
Force Lightning (Emperor Palpatine): Damages opponents gradually and disables vehicles temporarily.
Saber Throw (Darth Vader): Can pass through enemy builds, offering a tactical edge but less impactful overall.
Among these, Force Push proves the most practical, though primarily for niche tactical scenarios. Mobility remains their primary advantage, making lightsabers worthwhile but situational rather than critical items.
Medallions: Underwhelming and Risky
Two medallions feature prominently this season:
Captain Phasma’s Medallion: Reduces overheating on blasters, marginally enhancing sustained fire. This effect rarely decides engagements.
Shogun X’s Shield Medallion: Provides a shield bubble during healing but exposes players to unnecessary risk during acquisition, particularly due to the frequency of third-party encounters.
Neither medallion substantially changes gameplay dynamics enough to warrant targeted pursuit, especially given their vulnerability to aggressive third-party attacks—particularly from airborne threats like TIE fighters and X-wings.
